A lot about this Presidential race is very frustrating and disappointing.
One thing is Carson. Until recent years I didn't even know he was a Republican and that was the first disappointment with him. Carson was one of my childhood heroes. My mother was a nurse and is religious and she used to talk about Dr. Ben Carson and all the great work he did as a surgeon and as a man of God. As a young black guy he was a role model for me though I eventually decided not to go into a medical field. I'm agnostic so the religious part never did anything for me. As a politician I think Carson is a real nut. He believes too many goofy things and he's not at all qualified to be President. My mother is really unhappy about him. Who else believes the pyramids were built by Joseph to store grain??? How can a great Doctor believe something so stupid? That's frustrating too.
As a Democrat I wanted a great choice for our nominee and I first thought Hillary was it. I volunteered to help with her campaign in 2008. I think Bill Clinton was a great President and I hoped she'd be good too. Two years ago I'd probably be volunteering to help her again and now there is no way I can vote for her. She's disqualified for me. I handle classified information every day and I know I would be in deep sh*t if I did what she did. I only wonder how fast I'd lose my clearance, put under criminal investigation, prosecuted, and booted out of the Air Force and possibly thrown into jail. Hillary is Hillary and too important to be treated like that. This just not right.
I only voted for one Republican in my life, but I'm going to look at everyone and try not to be biased. What I see is that most of the Republicans are kooks and keep talking about tax cuts again like that's going to solve anything. They need to find a new song book. The anti-refugee position of most of them is ridiculous. Trump is a total idiot and Cruz might be smart but he's a nut on policy. Who wants another Bush? His brother was a disaster as a President. Fiorina was a CEO failure so why should she be President? Huckabee? No chance would I ever vote for him. I think Kasich is the most moderate and reasonable of the bunch and I live in Ohio and think he's been OK here. Christie would probably be entertaining but I don't see backing him. Rubio is looking like he might win and I can't see myself voting for him either unless it's against Hillary. That would be frustrating too.
So I'm trying to feel the Bern now. It's frustrating that he's such a long shot but I want him to win the nomination now unless Biden jumped in. Or someone like Howard Dean did or if O'Malley somehow came out of nowhere to win. I agree with a lot of what Bernie Sanders says and I'm a big fan of single-payer healthcare and he's the only person running for President that supports that. I wish he was younger but If he gets nominated I'm going to vote for him over every possible Republican. So feel the Bern!!
