Good job washed up old grandpa

Ulrey and BSmitty unlike either of you I will own up to my mistakes. I did not get any response to this. I have never held myself up as an expert or being more knowledgeable than Coach Woodson. I am a passionate Hoosier fan and graduate, season ticket holder for three sports, cheer all Hoosier teams and even have time to not hate ND because of my connections there. Just as another reference for that beer and discussion my mother-in-law had ND football season tickets for 62 years and retired from ND. My brother in laws in the original stadium painted the markings on the seats to shrink them from 18" to 12" to increase seating capacity.
Your response was just story telling from the last century. Nobody here claims to have more knowledge than Woody. What we see is what we are questioning.

If we make it, will you leave? Pls.
Is just making it the new thing now? Get in as a 12 seed...boat raced again. Rinse and repeat? Is this what you expected? 20-14 seasons.. Second round beat downs? You're cool with that? If so, ok.

I'm not. And pretty sure I'm not in the minority here

You want to talk current we are three and one in the Big Ten tied with PU for second. Those are facts and will not change until after tonight's game. I think we still have a chance to be good but are still very flawed without much margin for error. You want to discuss facts and not just observations or history happy to do that also. You point out the flaws does not solve anything only the players and coaches can do anything about that. I bet they all understand their flaws and from what X himself said Woodson is more than happy to let them know and try to coach them up.

A fluke F4 qualifies him over someone with a decade+ of experience coaching at the highest level of basketball? Interesting
Agree it was probably a fluke, but...I don't think some here realize how BAD , FAU was before his arrival.

They were bad. Like 1980's NW AND Wisconsin bad. But much worse. What he has done there is quite fukin impressive tbh

IU is not that young. New pieces, sure.

XJ 9tj year senior
TG- basically a senior
Walker-Senior.

Which funny thing is, that's exactly how many SR Purdue has.

IU has soph Ware, Gunn and Malik . Sparks as well.

PU has soph in Smith, Loyer and Kaufman

IU frosh MM and Cupps

PU has Colvin.

One team is better than the other. But basically same roster make-up.

Fair enough, let’s hope we play better basketball the second half of the year.

You're severely under-equating experience and don't even mention upperclassmen like Furst and Gillis.

Soph Ware and Reneau, while talented, were 15 mpg players last year. Gunn played sparingly. Loyer and Smith with 30+ game starters.

Purdue has guys like Gillis (63 starts) and Furst (33 starts) coming off the bench. More than half of their team is redshirted and a year older than their remaining eligibility.

Outside Xavier Johnson who has played in less than 20 games the last two seasons, IU's opening day lineup had 42 combined starts between them.

Purdue had 252 combined starts from their opening day lineup and that doesn't include another 125 combined starts between Gillis/Furst/Morton coming off the bench.

Huge difference.

Roster make up should factor in how long a player will be here. If a player comes here for a season, does it matter if he is inexperienced?

Difference in young vs experienced.
We are not that “young” as a team

When I refer to experience, I’m not talking about chronological age. I’m talking about game experience and, in particular, game experience playing with each other. Except for Colvin, all the PU players have played at least one full season plus nearly half a second season together. None of IU’s sophomores have even one full year of game experience except maybe MR, and we see how well he is playing.

Walker is new to the team but as an experienced player he has gotten better and better as the season has progressed. Sparks is new to the team. XJ hasn’t missed most of the season to this point but… oh wait, yes he has.

When PU has to play most of its season’s games to this point without its starting PG and incorporate 3 new starters and 5 newcomers into the roster, including 2 true freshmen, then we can compare IU’s apples to PU’s apples instead of IU’s mangoes to PU’s oranges.

Exactly.

there you go again... you are blind and can not see it developing... your only existence relies upon being a detractor... your pattern and agenda are apparent.

Illinois and Wake Forest beat a very pedestrian Rutgers team at home by comfortable margins and Princeton on a neutral court I believe. Rutgers was favored by 3 1/2 last time I looked but can’t imagine we lose this game. Jersey Mikes Arena-jeez.

Portal has made a huge difference for teams like FAU. I remember really good coaches at Penn state and NW but they couldn’t get players. Jury is still out on May.

What agenda?? I’m still waiting to watch and learn. Duh
You could help yourself if you didn’t include all those “but” in your praises. Hey great win but but but….etc. every team tries to do something to exploit you. All teams have weaknesses. IU forced turnovers and scored on them negating the rebounding of Ohio state. IU exploited that weakness and Ohio state exploited ours. There is no but but but…that’s my example.

it is his underlying agenda that makes those buts come out

Who they get from the portal?
I believe Gaffney was the only portal player that transferred in for 2022-2023. Goldin transferred the year before when Beard left Texas Tech and Greenlee transferred from Minnesota year before so both were second year players for May I believe.

Who is saying we are young? Dont we have like four seniors?
Two of which play more than 10 minutes a game. Of the two who play 10+ mpg, one has been hurt half the year. IU basically has 3 upperclassmen in it's rotation with one missing a months worth of game action. IU isn't old in the COVID era by any means. In fact quite the opposite. Last years team was very old.

Again what is my “agenda”. Quit throwing out crap. I don’t have an agenda, I want a winner in. Bloomington. Something we haven’t had in a long time
According to your own words, "we" haven't had a "winner" since before you became a fan.

Seems like your agenda is grab the next shiny thing, give it two years, and out the door if it doesn't meet the "fanbase " standards.

lol you are the one spewing the crap! we are winning... second in B1G last I checked... one of your agendas is feeding your ego... BTW you were a Norse or a Colonel so where does "We" come from?

No you would be wrong: I was a fan in 1987 when we won it

Gaffney averaged about 7 ppg.

Really, you are using a 4 game conference record as your measuring stick for this season?
seeing winning and watching the team develop... they will progress... you on the other hand say "we" and in the same breath call this team shit... you are only here to be a troll period.

No not true bud. I have been on here since the Mike Davis years.
This season we haven’t played well.

Simply going with what you posted. So how vocal were you when IU was losing in the first round every year from 94 through 2000?
Wasn’t on the site in 94…was there the internet in 94? Also I would say last few years of RmK I thought it was time to move on. Living legend but time was passing his style of coaching and he was getting a lot more grumpy
