relax stoll. as long as the pubs hold the senate this was a really good election. harris and the even scarier part of the left won't get a single thing of any moment done. pubs picked up more seats in the house sending a message that all the scary buzz words from the summer fell largely on deaf ears. the chief that has brought so much divisiveness and anxiety to the country is out and replaced by an old goat that'll have a calming hand and likely do very little. i'm sure he feels like he accomplished everything he needed to accomplish literally just by winning and ousting trump. everyone should be happy. we're poised to have a nice, quiet four years while we regroup.

I do not know if conversations are happening behind the scenes, they might well be. Goldwater led a delegation to Nixon and told him it was over. Maybe people like McConnell have called Trump and asked him to town it down? It is possible. But since Trump hasn't launched a Twitter war against McConnell I am doubting it.
Yes, that's no brainer. Nixon had serous flaws, mainly paranoia, but Nixon was extremely intelligent and capable, unlike Trump.

I am not in the 2%. The ghosts I am not sure. About 15 years ago I was at my office. I noticed a hornets nest. I stupidly tried to get rid of it myself. I was stung by one. I’d never had issue with stings. My younger brother who was killed in an auto accident at age 32, nearly died of honey bee sting at around age 10. Anyway, after the hornet sting I went upstairs in my office. Got to feeling dizzy so I laid on my couch. For some reason I thought about my brother. I got up and made it half way down my stairway and passed out. My staff got me to a car and the hospital a few blocks away. The Hospital Chaplin met my wife when she arrived and told her they didn’t think I was going to make it. I’ve always wondered why I thought of my brother when I was a few seconds from dying on my office couch if I hadn’t got up and started down the stairs. Certainly wasn’t tapped on the shoulder by my brother’s ghost. Who knows why I thought of him a few seconds from death.
Remarkably it was very similar to 2016, only reverse. Very close in PA, MI, and WI and will end up with the same Electoral vote margin.
Brian Cardinal. In thinking about a comparison to Trump, that is my answer. There are a lot of players in sports that the fans of that team LOVE, but everyone else HATES. Brian Cardinal was that player most of us will remember. Trump worked hard to taunt his opponents. His people love him for that. But it made it awful hard for the rest.
I made a post elsewhere, getting the 45% to turn out in record numbers to vote can work, but you can't entirely drive the 55% to unadulterated hatred. Trump made that mistake.
