Biden is a centrist, known for working with conservatives. Early in the primary he took a beating for saying he worked with racists. If we can't make this work, we can't make anything work.

Just got home from Chicago. Visited multiple Engineers/Plant Managers from Lake Zurich to Schiller Park to Aurora and all points in between. Many of them are first generation Americans from Europe, especially Poland. Marvin, they are furious. First generation Americans who can’t believe what they are seeing, hearing.

My assertion is that the scholars here at the WC are completely out of touch with the working class, you know, the rubes that many here constantly refer to.

But my comments preceded and were NOT related to the visual evidence posted in this thread. My comments were based on what I witnessed on my tv, and comments from both GOP and Dem poll watchers saying that they had been harassed.


You have a different understanding of the people that make up the Michigan Militia than I do. Their attempt to kidnap Whitmer is not their first flirtation with violent "popular uprising" type of actions directed against Govt officials they dislike...

One of the invaders of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon in 2016 (John Ritzheimer) is a long time Arizona based militia enthusiast. At one point he posted a youtube plea with him crying and begging people to contribute funds so he could buy gas to travel to Michigan.

His goal was to get to Michigan so that he could join his brothers in the Michigan Militia as they arrested (Michigan Dem Senator) Debbie Stabenow for Treason. I can't find the video any more- it predates Trump and IIRC her crime had something to do with her support of the Traitor Obama and the Iran Treaty. Again, I never tried to tar average "GOP voters" with a broad brush in my post. I was referring specifically to people who self identify as members of a group like the Michigan Militia...

The Michigan Militia was a bunch of (imho) crazies before anyone ever heard of Donnie Trump as a political candidate. Trump was the perfect catalyst to legitimize their actions, just like he did when he equivocated and tried to claim there were good people on both sides in Charlottesville.

I'm not sure how I motivate people to vote for Trump. I'm a 65 yr old guy who shifted from a GOP supporter who wanted Nixon to win in '68 to being a McGovern supporter 4 yrs later when the most important issue to me was Vietnam. I just came to feel that Dems came to represent the concept of what I considered an "American", and I never felt the urge to go back to my Republican roots.

If my posting facts about militia types "inspires" people to vote for Trump, then my guess is that would be folks predisposed to riding the trump train. This is right up there with the "faux outrage" over Clinton's deplorable remark. She was clearly talking about elements within Trump's base that I would agree are deplorable.

There is a process for challenges. Rs need to come up with the evidence and people will listen. So far every challenge seems to have been answered.

Isn't that very simplistic? The Democratic Party has issues with workers, part of that is the nature of the coalition. The Dems have environmentalists, that creates friction with workers. It is what it is.

I come from a lower middle class working family. So I get completely the tension. Absolutely everyone in my neighborhood seemed to love George Wallace.

The Democrats need to find some way to mend fences.

You mentioned giving Trump a chance. Let me ask, do you recall what McConnell's quote was as Obama was taking office? Was that his way of saying the GOP was willing to work with Obama?

Until 2017, I rejected being called a Democrat. I have a long disdain for the party. Rock isn't around to yell at me for saying this, we should not have parties. George Washington agreed with me. We desperately need some way of stop putting party over nation.

If anyone in Trump's campaign has any real evidence of fraud, I guarantee you the courts would hear it.

So far there's been zero evidence whatsoever. If that changes, let us know. Baseless generalizations are worthless. Trump won these states 4 years ago by smaller margins then what the final amounts will be this time. Is it really that hard to believe the electorate shifted 1-2 points?

The questions were always gonna be more about the validity of the mailed-in ballots themselves and not the behaviors of the poll workers, although those have been suspect in places.

I believe there is evidence in MI concerning a program used to tally ballot totals in 33 counties.

There are legit questions and money will be wasted getting them answered in courts. I have my doubts as to whether or not any of it will make a difference in the long run. I can handle a lame-duck napper like Joe.

If this election is this close with all the hate vote, it makes me really optimistic about 2024.
