Why have we gotten to the point of accomplishment and depravity coexisting?
The enlightenment was largely a product of the Middle East. Now that region with its deeply imbedded hatred and constant violence represents the lowest of humanity.
Kamala Harris is fond of saying we need to imagine a future unburdened by the past. She makes a great point. Too bad that she and other leaders don’t belive that, or don’t apply it if they do believe it. The past dominates the present and it inhibits the future.
As with everything that is causing turmoil, discord, and hate, we need to look at how we are educating all of us. Is the “warts and all” approach to history building the kind of social structure we want? Or is it breaking down the rules of engagement for a family, community, nation, and society that we should have?
