So says President Biden. Do you agree or disagree?

I agree that it's over - essentially, anyway. I've been saying for months that it's time to continue life as normal. If there's an annual COVID shot to go along with the Flu shot, and I think there will be, so be it. If someone wants to wear a mask because he/she is sick or feels vulnerable, go for it. This is common in Asian countries, and it seemed a little bit strange to me when I first saw it, but it's no big deal and we'll likely see it here. The world has changed, but not so much that we'll need to obsess over COVID going forward.

In practical terms, it's been over since early in the year.

It was over for me last summer.

It's as close to over as we're gonna get. We're now getting TV ads for treatment options (Pfizer).

So no more mail in balloting, right?
Mail in balloting has always existed. States like UT,CO and Oregon have been using it exclusively for at least 20+ yrs. And absentee ballots have always been available to the military and overseas civilians and others. It used to be primarily used by REPUBLICANS (ex- Military, Govt Employees etc...) and when that was the case NOBODY complained...

In 2020 Dems started to take advantage of it, and suddenly the whining started. As usual, it started with Trump being the ULTIMATE HYPOCRITE (he's voted by mail for years), and then him whining making stupid claims that STUPID people fell for. For example, IN and MI had the same no-excuse mail ballot system, where anyone could vote for mail for absolutely any reason, no questions asked. The IN rule was an accommodation for Covid, but the MI law was based on a 2018 vote by people in the state of MI who overwhelmingly ADOPTED UNIVERSAL MAIL IN VOTING- pre Covid.

On Nov 6, 2018 MI voters were given the CHOICE of voting yes or no on Proposal 3...

A "yes" vote supported adding eight voting policies to the Michigan Constitution, including straight-ticket voting, automatic voter registration, same-day voter registration, and no-excuse absentee voting.
A "no" vote opposed adding eight voting policies to the state constitution, maintaining that straight-ticket voting, automatic voter registration, same-day voter registration, and no-excuse absentee voting are not used in Michigan

The results...

2,7 Million votes YES- 66%
1.3 Million votes No 33%

The amendment was added to the MI Constitution ,and became LAW...

IN 2018. TWO years BEFORE the 2020 election.

As usual Trump lied...

Yet STUPID people (hopefully not you) believe Trump when he lies and says that the Dems in MI changed the rules for Covid. Of course Trump didn't complain about IN, just MI and he made up nonsense in the process. No doubt CATURD believes Trump's lies, but hopefully you're more intelligent that that? Still your post makes one wonder how much of these lies you have fallen for?

Any other Trump lies that you believe, that you need me to debunk for you? (PA's law was enacted in 2019, in case you were wondering)

Didn’t we just use “hardships due to ongoing CoViD-19 pandemic” as reason for student loan “forgiveness”?

I always voted absentee during my military years and I’ve continued doing so the last 10 years. Mail in votes used to be predominantly Republican (Gore’s team tried to get many invalidated during the 2000 Florida recount, remember?), but Trump ruined that with his lies about them being fraudulent. You bought it because, well, because you’re slavishly and embarrassingly devoted to him and believe everything he tells you even when it’s obviously false to anyone capable of thinking. You're a puppy dog. Trump would be happy to kick you because he’s got no love or loyalty to you in return.

I hope so. The graphs look good, but it would be depressing if another variant came along.

If you don't know the difference between an absentee ballot and a mail in ballot god help you. There's a reason the socialist French outlawed mail in balloting decades ago.

Why is mail in voting bad?

So you’re saying we should move towards a socialist model. DBM hearts the squad.

Covid ain't. The Covid pandemic is. There's a difference.

I believe that's what Biden said too.

other than Pfizer and Moderna, Wall St has wanted this declared over for a long time.

and Wall St owns all news coverage.

the reporting has been beyond terrible, and what we get is deceptive.

we make a huge deal every yr about the 3,000 9-11 deaths, but that number and more still die per wk in the US from covid.

so a covid 9-11 every week still.

are cases, deaths, etc, any different than 2 yrs ago, or a yr ago, at this time of the yr?

still 35 - 50 deaths a week being reported in Indiana alone, and 3,500 plus per week in the US.

i'm sure the families of those don't consider it over.

covid never was really a thing much for those under 50.

appears still is a thing for those over 60-65, unless they are lying about the numbers.

2 universes.

and they adamantly still flat refuse to give us the needed numbers.

number of hospitalizations, ICU/vents, deaths, per day/week, all fully broken down by 5 yr age group, and vax status.

absent the hospitalizations, ICU, deaths, numbers being broken down by age group and vax status, the numbers they allow us are not only totally worthless, but more importantly, deliberately very deceptive.

and need both age group and vax status with the numbers, not just one or the other.

and yet they flat refuse to give us these numbers.

the only reason to flat refuse to give us the vital numbers broken down by age and vax status, is if said numbers tell us something they don't want told.

no other reason for this indefensible dereliction of duty in reporting..

I’ve done both - and they’re both absentee ballots. Tell me what you think the difference is. Since so much of what you know is false, it ought to be good.

Why is mail in voting bad?

Studies on mail in voting show it isn't fraud which is a problem. The problem is not having your vote count because the voter didn't mail it on time or made on error such as not signing the ballot.

First time mail in voters, younger voters, and minority voters had the most ballots rejected in a study done in the 2018 Georgia midterm election. 3% of the ballots were rejected in Georgia as compared to less than 1% in Colorado. Colorado voters have had several years experience in voting by mail.

In Illinois you can track your ballot to find out if it counted or not.

I don't mind absentee voting. Why can't people just do that? This way it is more controlled and less shenanigans.

What in the heck do you guys think the big difference is between mail in voting and “absentee voting?” They’re both mail in absentee votes. Please explain what you think the big difference is. I only vote this way and I don’t know.
