Covid is over

What's your point?

That someone tested postive for covid but had no symptoms, as they were vaxd?

Who gives a flying fuk? That should surprise nobody.

Covid isn't over. But people are over covid and are getting on with their lives. The vaccines are effective in that you aren't going to get seriously ill. Take your jabs for for the next couple of years, and get on with living your life.

If you refuse vaccines that's on you to take your risk of a bad reaction if you get infected.

I'll be happily burning my masks by mid summer.

Better stay home until then, just to be safe
Fauci is a lying media hound who has helped destroy faith in and reliance on government data

People still choose to believe which Covid info to accept based on whether it makes Trump look good or bad, including Biden

The math and science got buried under political hatred

Fear sells better than sex
Headlines from the NY Post:
"Brooklyn woman gets COVID 3 weeks after Johnson & Johnson vaccine"
"Man in hospital with COVID-19 after receiving Johnson & Johnson vaccine"
The NY Post is on a mission to convince New Yorkers that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine sucks

There is a lot of crappy reporting about the vaccines lately. Outlets freaking out over breakthrough infections (NY Post), distorting what studies say about efficacy (CNN) and on and on

Broke: "No, of course scientists don't want to inject you with microchips to fight covid"
Woke: "Okay, scientists do want to inject you with microchips to fight covid and it sounds amazing"

Fauci: "It's still not ok for vaccinated Americans to eat and drink indoors."
Get vaccinated....and never leave home again.
It's a hell of a contest between Fauci and Anti-Vaxxers with telling people that vaccines don't actually do anything positive

The guy needs to fade into retirement already

And then we have folks like this.
I mean, I really dislike most people but come on

I'm of the belief that federal politicians and the ultra-wealthy (Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos) do not want COVID-19 to end, as it initiated the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the United States. The data proves this: Bezos' net worth increased by $75 billion in 2020. I've included a link to this data in Business Insider.

As for members of the majority political party in the United States, they are desperate to use COVID-19 as the reasoning for massive spending on liberal wish list items such as this new "infrastructure" bill. The bill itself calls for $2.25 trillion in new spending, with only 5% of that allocated spending designed for roads, bridges and other items that fit the definition of infrastructure.

Unless average Americans (such as those of us on this board) refuse to comply with masking, social distancing or the insanely ineffective and stupid lockdown policies, our lives will be completely at the mercy of the democratic party and people like Jeff Bezos.

I wish all this hand-wringing concern over messaging had been around last summer when a concerted effort to convince dumbasses to wear masks may have made a difference.
I'm pretty sure there were some of us on here complaining about messaging last summer. It's typical of government. Ineffective by nature

I would believe you complained, and maybe a couple of your equally intelligent counterparts. But the majority of idiots cried about their freedom.
Freedom and health are not mutually exclusive.

Here there were already statutes on the books addressing gubernatorial powers and public health agency powers in public health emergencies. They worked fine. But once the toxic partisan assholes decided it was a presidential power issue, and they could all fight about Trump, all common sense died.

Local health numbers = local health issue

Like gun laws and speed limits - one size does not fit all

I trust Washington as far as I can throw it. Especially now, when it’s full of Kings, Queens, and Benevolent Dictators who really care.

Whether this latest brand of a natural or man made virus is over misses what is important in my view.

What is important is how we review what occurred and how we deal with a biological pandemic in the future. In other words, the attacks are far from over.

Arguing about politics and whether we believe in freedom or government dictates is silly.

What is important is what a well calculated correct response to future attacks.

Except this entire fiasco, and the millions of deaths attributed to it, could have been avoided with a Chinese government that wasn't more concerned about covering it up instead of containing the problem. The Chinese were complicit by allowing wet markets to continue, despite previous outbreaks and warnings. Worst case, they actually let it leak from a lab (seems less likely, but we're nearly 1.5 into this and there are zero definitive confirmations from credible sources - AKA not that paid stooge that runs Lancet or the incompetent WHO).

Should the globe have to spend trillions of dollars trying to combat the unknown or should it focus on making sure that third world places like China evolve into the 21st Century?

I’m gonna turn my masks into a sweet loincloth.

6 people out of what, 7 million? That’s absurd they want to shut the program down. Makes me think they don’t want covid to be over! .00001%!???

it seems irresponsible given the stats on this vs COVID

Speaking of covid...I went to Haubstadt Saturday night to get my redneck on and watch sprints. There were a few thousand people there...I saw maybe 5 masks, long packed lines, and packed grandstands. I can’t tell you how good and normal that felt...even if I was surrounded by a bunch of idiotic red necks. I’ll let you know in another couple of days how that Pfizer vaccine holds up to a bunch of unvaccinated Republican red necks. Soon enough we’ll all need to know that anyhow.
