Perfect encapsulation of Chicago these days… they can’t wait to have dangerous people back on the street

Prosecutors dropped a handful of other felonies, including an escape from electronic monitoring case that Payne picked up while the matter was pending.

After receiving a 50% sentence reduction for good behavior and credit for time served in jail and on an ankle monitor, he is expected to be released on June 23, 2026.

7 previous felonies including burglary and armed robbery. Sounds like a predictable pattern.

That seafood place looks disgusting.

It’s a fair question considering he’s constantly yammering on about how safe and great Streeterville is
Division appears to be the dividing line on the North side at least for now. LP is still great, little to no homeless or people whacked out of their skulls. Wells and westward can get a little hairy later at night however.

Even Viagra triangle can be home to some unseemly folks.

It’s mayhem. Logan Square and surrounding is getting pummeled right now.

We have friends in Wicker Park that are paying for outside security for a four block radius/zone. Residents in the neighborhood banded together to hire them. Ain’t that some shit? Pay out the ass in taxes then have to pay again for private “police” because the city police are spread too thin.

Apparently there was a stretch of garages being robbed in broad daylight. Groups of robbers would basically say F you and walk away with whatever they wanted. Cops show up 60 to 90 minutes later.

As a matter of convenience, Chicago DA is endorsing stores that now offer curbside pickup looting services. Just pull up and they bring everything out to you. Genius.

Yes, this happens ALL the time. LOL.

Meanwhile it’s the best big city in the US. The rest of us are enjoying the best food in the world, a vibrant downtown that is growing faster than any other big city in the US.

Stay away. We don’t want you here. Enjoy chain restaurants in suburbia and your InCel forums. The pubs have been fantastic at keeping creeps like you away.

We’ll enjoy culinary and cultural excellence.

No one cares about you, Vid.

When I leave the food scene is the only thing I will miss. We went to Jeong recently an it was really good. I’m not always into tasting menus, but this one moved along nicely. Really good cocktails. I can’t do the wine pairings these days, just becomes a weird mix of alcohol. Bad for the gut and especially bad for sleeping.

Whats a nice new spot you’ve been to recently?

Not gonna play your friendly game now. Just leave already.

You can’t have big city attributes without the big city problems. As I’ve said so many times people want to barf, I have lived in Chicago for 30 years. I’ve never seen a gun. I’ve never witnessed a shooting. I’ve never been robbed.

If you want to make your decisions about where you live based on Republican/Trump lies and talking points, you do that. You think anyone who actually lives in the city gives a crap about your hillbilly taste in cocktails? Bye.

There’s a new skyscraper going up on the north side of my building. I didn’t even notice it before I got back from Tahiti. Cranes everywhere.

Chicago is booming. I see it right out my window. I didn’t vote for the current mayor. I voted for Vallas, but we’ll see what happens.

Violet Hour, Billie Sunday, Aviary, The Office, Watershed, More, Franklin Room…. hillbilly taste in cocktails? Lol

You’d never get into The Office, but you’re definitely proficient at The Google.

It's an issue that needs to be addressed. In cities, it's soaking up resources, and all it is is a software patch. However, Hyundai doesn't want the cost of a recall.
Meanwhile in Chicago the people stealing cars are back on the street the same day of arrest and migrant camps are set-up all over city public spaces.

Resources LMAO

All over where cities can’t control crime. Blame someone else. Always….
The Chicago mayor also just fired the public health commissioner because she went to war with the teachers union about kids being in school after covid had essentially passed. They wanted to continue to sit on their asses at home.

It’s unreal. The car lawsuits are all over. I get the nuisance argument but never is there a call for accountability amongst the bad actors.

Do you think people steal cars in Carmel Indiana when they “just need a ride?” We should ask @Bloom. , the resource expert lol.

Most of the people don't get caught, and it's still a problem for car owners.

You're seem to be one of those guys who if you can't completely eradicate something, then we shouldn't do anything about it.

Car thefts in general are a pretty low priority among the police. Even when they do find the vehicle it's wrecked or chopped then left for dead.

When in this case the solution is an easy fix, it should be taken care of.

10+ model years of recalls for Hyundai and Kia is an easy solution?

I guess you could do the recall as a car owner and hope they don’t just put a gun or knife in your face vs simply breaking into your car. Progress

Not the point. The point is libs and progressives excusing shit behavior. Dicks sporting goods closing stores and laying off workers due in part to increasing theft. Progressive run cities are a disaster. And instead of fixes we get excuses. It’s a patch. They have insurance. Progressives are gross.

Considering what the fix is, yes. It's easy. It would take one person per dealership to push through a software upgrade. Schedule appointments 10 minutes apart for newer cars to initiate the update. For newer cars (SD update), they'll be out in 45-60 minutes. Older cars (USB update) might be an end of the day thing, pick it up the next day.

You're do nothing kind of guy.

Maybe set up a package deal with Walgreens where you can get the recall and new vaccine in one take. All paid for by the city of Carmel.
