By 2050, Nigerian population to tie USA

People don't really understand corruption. We bitch about "corruption" in the USA but that's laughable. Or systemic. You choose. In Africa it's the good old steal everything you can while you can type of corruption. When I'm there all I do is pay people off.

anyone thinking the USA is any different is extremely naive.

our entire system of govt is now literally based in bribery and extortion, and that reality has even been officially blessed by SCOTUS. (which is also rooted in bribery and corruption).

only difference between us and the rest of the world, is in the US the bribery and extortion hasn't infiltrated low level politics and business as much.

This sounds like a business opportunity
That's part of the problem - the officials don't want anyone to get ahead. The bureaucracy you have to go through to get anything over there is next to impossible.

The only reliable way to get anything over there is to send it with someone who's going there.

I looked into what it would take to send school supplies and stuff over there and, at least in Nigeria, they want you buying stuff there, so they don't like stuff being imported.

Make Nigeria Great Again!

I know about shipping by boat. save's a boatload. and honestly we have a huge labor force at our disposal here of retirees (aloha boat captain) and derelict retirees in the dream team looking for an adventure. shit joehoopsier can fly a plane. things go south we'll get him to fly inventory out. i wonder what other electronic crap we can sell em. older generation video consoles? they want old xboxes? grand theft auto one. find out lars. this obviously has legs. 0ver promise and under deliver. that's the key. we don't need repeat customers. just millions of first time sales.
National Deli chain.

It's gold, Jerry - GOLD!

No. Your preferred energy sources will be utilized when they are better options that the status quo.

Until then they can piss off. We do not incentive inferior goods and services to fight the boogeyman.

And stop confusing weather with climate.
Imagine that - it gets hot in summer!

It's true our corruption is nothing like Africa's, but that's nothing to brag about.
He is making the point that Africa might not be the Shangrala (sp?) that the earlier posters were espousing. Some were just plain giddy about the thought of white people's influence being lessened like that would solve major problems. That is some racist garbage there.

VHS porn tapes? I might know where to find some . . .

God damn. Go all the way to Africa and still have to deal with an ex. Starting to think these guys who just married their high school sweetheart were smart
He was an American. We're not setting the best example for the rest of the world.

I've watched so much Pawn Stars, Antiques Roadshow and Youtube rabbit holes. I'm an expert.
I used to go to a couple pawn shops here with my cops. One was owned by a lawyer. I will say not once did I see anyone bring in a babe Ruth baseball card or civil war coins. Mostly just stolen lawnmowers and PlayStations

I used to hock my saxophone at a pawn shop in Bloomington to get some drinking money before my GI Bill check came in.

Not proud of that fact - I always felt like I was a lowlife when I went into that place.

My guess is that the Gold & Silver pawn stars pawn shop is unlike any other.

How much would you get? And then you paid it back plus interest when the GI check came in? How much was that? Fascinating.

I'd get about $70. My sax was about 10 years old by then, since I got it in Jr. High. It was worth a lot more. I was always nervous they'd sell it, so i paid off the loan as soon as I could.

I don't remember how much interest I paid - probably $10 or so. It didn't seem too ridiculous at the time, but if you took it over a year, it would be an insane interest rate, since I don't think I ever left it there over 2 weeks.
