Kelly's my guy as well. Smart, reasonable, bipartisan mindset, well-spoken, decorated combat vet, honorable, opposes Biden's border impotency, former astronaut, courageous, hero. He's everything Trump isn't, would help carry an important swing state and would crush The Con in November.
I could see the Democrats totally fvcking this up, though, with some of the Dem power brokers crying that it wouldn't be "fair" to Harris if someone else were to become the nominee (particularly - - horrors! - - a white man), that women and minorities wouldn't be happy, etc. This should be all about defeating Donald Fvcking Trump and nominating the person who has the best chance to accomplish that.

Dewine won OH by over 30 I believe. DeSantis won FL by 20 and then got curb stomped. Gubernatorial races simply aren't predictive of national elections.

You should have limited the poll to Dems, independents and Trump haters. As a hater of the De1mocratic Party, Biden is the Democratic option I prefer.

I answered honestly as someone I would be most likely to vote for right now, although admittedly, I am not entirely certain on all of these potential candidates' political and/or economic positions.
I voted Shapiro because he seems to be the most moderate from the list.

Yes she is very popular in Michigan despite what the maga machine says. The lockdowns in Michigan ended around the same time as most states. Wasn't extremely long like some other places.

You have a major Kamala problem. She's too stupid to be bought off with a SC position. That's boring, and it sounds like work. Even if all she did was show up for the arguments.......that would be more than she does now. She would keep the Biden decision-makers in place. If Joe could get by with it, so can she. She can be a figurehead and having AF1 to fly around on sounds like fun.

I do know you have two chances in this election. Michelle, and the sentencing...if Trump can't get the sentence stayed until after the election. Not being physically present on the campaign trail would be an issue.

Sorry I haven't read the entire thread but where does Harris stand in all of this? Seems to me she should be the individual to step in if Biden is removed or removes himself. Don't get me wrong it would be a disaster but that is what the Democrat's signed up for when they put her on the ticket. She puts a wrench in this process if you ask me, if she is not Biden's replacement it opens the door for everyone to question why she was there in the first place as well as question the democratic party as she was clearly a vote getter and nothing more.

There is no practical way that they could just skip over Harris. None. She's basically the only alternative available. The rest is just fantasy land.

You might start with a video of her questioning Judge Kavanaugh at his confirmation hearing.
He's violating the SC ruling if he does. He must vacate, have a factual hearing on what constitutes Presidential acts, and then order a new trial.
That would be really strange and alarming. She was never in the US Congress so why was she even there? I can't find the video, can you link it?
VPs aren’t necessarily the heirs apparent anymore. For a recent example, see Obama/Biden in 2016.
If it’s “fantasy land” to move past Harris, then the Dems deserve the fate that will await them in November. She’s as unpopular as Biden and would lose to Trump.
The Dems, though, may not have the stomach for a truly brokered convention, or simply may cave to losing, identity politics.
Look up her lockdown record and the stupidity of her rules. She was dragged and sued. You’re doing your usual of not bothering to look first before you write. Stores open. No golf. Nurseries. Progressive agenda.
