That applies to both sides. You have one side acting as though vaccines don't work at all then you have the other side saying that if you get the vaccines you are completely safe and both of those are wrong. A couple good friends of mine had the shots and both boosters but they still got covid. It's wasn't too severe but I can't say and no one else can say that it was because of the vaccine. Now overall the stats show that people who get the vaccines have better odds of not getting the severe version but nobody can point to a specific case and say the vaccine kept them from getting severe covid.
Polio vaccine has absolutely nothing to do with covid whatsoever.
Both are safe and effective, life-saving, world-changing vaccines that nutjobs refuse.
