Wby should the stetes or anyone have to remind you to encourage you to vote? If a person doesn't know they can register and vote then they are too dumb to vote.
I'm afraid I have to disagree anyone is too dumb to vote. First and foremost, that sort of thinking led to only property-owning White males voting for a very long time. Second, there are all sorts of intelligence. I know people who are very smart in some areas but have real issues doing anything on their computers.
If we want to target low information voters, Indiana should remove the straight party vote. All states should remove the D/R/L next to names. Stop thinking of candidates as team red or team blue, that is about as low information as it gets. We all know out there somewhere, as an example, is someone who sees a Trump commercial and like what he says but will get into the booth and vote straight D, or will see the R next to Trump and think, 'I can't vote for a Republican, I am a Democrat."
So if we want to improve voting, make people decide based on the individual and not the party. If they want to memorize every D or R on the ballot, fine. But that is on them to do it.
