my neurologist just resigned. The appointment I've been waiting for since March has been canceled. Don't know when it will be rescheduled. Anybody know a neurologist that can get me in? I think I know the answers to my questions.
This is Georgia, right?my neurologist just resigned. The appointment I've been waiting for since March has been canceled. Don't know when it will be rescheduled. Anybody know a neurologist that can get me in? I think I know the answers to my questions.
Oh man - I'm really sorry to hear this Sope. I know his specialty is ALS, but this is the Neurologist my brother saw:my neurologist just resigned. Tennessee.
Cool. Ohio, right? I may have to travel.Oh man - I'm really sorry to hear this Sope. I know his specialty is ALS, but this is the Neurologist my brother saw:
Dr. Robert Pascuzzi.
Again, I don't know if that's applicable/helpful, but my brother was able to get into see him initially very quickly. Once he was a patient, they sang his praises.
No, my brother lived in Indiana. I believe Dr. Pascuzzi is on the northside of Indy.Cool. Ohio, right? I may have to travel.
Also, if North Carolina is closer, this is another neurologist I know kind of well. Again, he has an ALS focus, but supposedly he/his team at Duke Neurology are rock stars.Cool. Ohio, right? I may have to travel.
Understood. He's got a good CV.No, my brother lived in Indiana. I believe Dr. Pascuzzi is on the northside of Indy.
Rock star as to ALS. Another good CV.Also, if North Carolina is closer, this is another neurologist I know kind of well. Again, he has an ALS focus, but supposedly he/his team at Duke Neurology are rock stars.
Dr. Richard Bedlack
And who should I say is referring me? Or should I?Rock star as to ALS. Another good CV.
For Dr. Bedlack? And who should I say is referring me? Or should I?
No. Dr. Pascuzzi. Same stuff? For Dr. Bedlack?
Tell him you talked to the guy who started Hoops4ALS for ALS TDI. You can send me a message if you want more details, but he'll almost certainly know who I am from that description. We invited him to be honored at Cameron Indoor Stadium last season and he came to our pre-game event at Hi-Wire Brewery.
Dr. Pascuzzi and people in his office would know my brother. If you want to tell him that Andy Murphy's brother recommended him, I'm good with that. My brother and his wife Brooke saw him regularly from early 2020 up until he passed away in July 2023.No. Dr. Pascuzzi. Same stuff?
Do you have a known diagnosis? In practice in NE GA not far from Athens and Gainesville. Not sure where you are in TN bit would be happy to try to help in any way if I canmy neurologist just resigned. The appointment I've been waiting for since March has been canceled. I don't know. Does a Radiologist"s comment count? He said that I had NPH. I was told this by my then-PCP in March. I had a neurosurgeon say he doesn't know what I've got in July, but then he was flummoxed by the ruse my PCP devised to get me in front of a near-something before November. He said "no shunt." All signs point to NPH.Do you have a known diagnosis? In practice in NE GA not far from Athens and Gainesville. Not sure where you are in TN bit would be happy to try to help in any way if I can
No worries. Definitely need a neurologist for NPH management. Are you in Knoxville/Nashville/etc…. Metro areas?I don't know. Does a Radiologist"s comment count? He said that I had NPH. Thank you for the offer. I'm on the other side of the aisle from you, so I don't want to presume. I've got my new PCP on it.
Knoxville. My appointment was with Dr. Luis Zayas. No worries. Definitely need a neurologist for NPH management. Are you in Knoxville/Nashville/etc…. Metro areas?

Thank you. As you can tell I'm over playing by the rules.Sorry to hear that.
I can’t be much help for you in Georgia. I know a number of them from a large practice in Indy. I’m surprised that whoever your neurologist was affiliated with just left you hanging like that.
I do know a surgeon affiliated with Emory in Atlanta. Really good guy, great CV. I’d be happy to ask him for any suggestions. Emory is a huge healthcare entity.
Once you hit a certain age, rules become advisory at best.Thank you. As you can tell I'm over playing by the rules.
It’s such a broken bullshit system. He’s better off just showing up at the Emory main er and saying my head hurts. Get a referral that way right awayOnce you hit a certain age, rules become advisory at best.
I think you're thinking of meth.Hopefully your new PCP is able to get you in quickly.
I hear you. Multiple times.Daggum Sope. Hopefully your new PCP is able to get you in quickly. It appears the “system” has failed you multiple times.
Folks…make sure you pick your PCP wisely. It is vitally important.
They never had your vote in the first place.I hear you. Multiple times.
I had a call with an excellent medmal attorney last week and she told me that no medmal attorney in Georgia worth their salt would take my case, because there is a presumption against a finding of malpractice in Georgia (most likely from the requirement that an attorney has to attach an affidavit to the complaint that the doc didnt meet the standard of care in the geographic area and docs don't do this) and these cases are expensive to try. So no medmal attorney will take the case. BTW, her opinion is that the doc likely committed negligence against me. I had no idea.
The fox is guarding the henhouse.
So the "system" has failed me multiple times. The GOP will never get my vote as a result.
Fck. I’m sorry to hear that. Sounds like she knows the score too. UghI hear you. Multiple times.

I do not know a thing about the lawsuit angle. I was looking more at the healthcare side. Your PCP did not appear invested in your well being. Just there to collect a paycheck. She/he should have been moving mountains to get you the correct diagnostic procedures….quickly.I hear you. Multiple times.

Were you able to get an appointment with a different neurologist?
