SNL

LOL - you do realize that neither Harris or Trump came up with that bit, right? Nor was Trump the first real person to appear on screen with an SNL character playing him/her.

That said, I’m sure Trump believes Kamala “ripped off” his kit too. No surprise his cultists would believe the same.
Don’t get fiery. Simply pointing the skit was a lame rehash. Unoriginal and thoughtless. Like her campaign.

Rourke’s Thumb

Rourke's QB IQ is incredible. I know we have a phenomenal QB coach, but the kid is also super talented to see things at the level he does. He strikes me as a late 1st - mid 2nd round pick in the draft in April with the way he's playing. He's got a great future ahead of him.
It's almost like he has the QB IQ of Manning or Brady....I'm serious. How that translates to the NFL, is anyone's guess.

What if trump is right. About everything. That short term pain spurs independence by way of more manufacturing here. Gas here. Meds here. Consumer products. We rely on ourselves. And what if in keeping protectionism is right. How many countries cite our presence, our ubiquitous presence, as what incites them. ME etc. What if Europe is compelled to stand on its own. our world hegemony ends and actually gives rise to less conflict

I don’t know if any of that is true or would play out like that but….
I like the idea about a lot of what you said and wish it could work. Just not sure we could find the balance that would prevent crazy inflation. We are drunk in cheap foreign labor, especially in consumer products.

Curious your thoughts on Speaker Johnson saying if Trump won they'd probably try and repeal the Chips Act (he's since said he misheard the question and apologized for his answer).

Peacock Network?

I've heard enough about peapuss it reinforces my decision to give them the thumbs down and enjoyed immensely Fischer and Buck. I'll do the same for Woodson and his boys. I won't adjust until hell is icy or BTN removes the cranium from their rectum.
Preachin' to the choir, my friend. Fisch and Buck were having a blast yesterday, that is, once IU erased that early 10 point deficit🤣Then the game became a laugher. I noticed that the IU/MSU game will be aired on "Big Football in 60" today at 5pm and again tomorrow at 2am. I watch highlights last night, but am looking forward to watching the entire game.

Biggest home game since 1967

I submit the Cincinnati game in Sept 2021. We came into the season ranked 17th but then got boatraced in Iowa. In Week 2 we thumped Idaho pretty good. In Week 3 we faced No. 8 Cincinnati in Bloomington. At the time we viewed this as an opportunity to get back on track with a statement win. That of course didn't materialize but going into the game I think we thought it was pretty big.

We learned one thing today

One thing I have not learned is why IU isn’t the cfb story of the year.
Great post and question! My best guess, other teams (and the networks that support them) feel entitled to that story every year. We have to fight for that narrative. Oregon is in the same league and number one. We got to beat OSU for that to happen is my thought. If we can do that, we will be the talk of the season heading into the B1G championship game against Oregon. Can't believe I'm writing this post. Go Hoosiers! Too cool!

Biggest home game since 1967

You hit on a very critical point Mobile; there are numerous comments (by opponents and media) about IU's weak schedule. However, IU has the two teams from last year's championship game on the schedule and it is not IU's fault they are both much less than what they were last year. Furthermore, this IU team may have been able to hang with either of those teams from last season; IU may have lost but I don't think either would have been a cake walk.

Polls - - a week out

That poll is bat shit crazy. I will say if Trump loses by a wider margin than he did in 2020 it will most likely be because he got trounced in the 65 plus voters…aka the asset class. They have done pretty well the past 4 years and are more shielded from inflation. They have already paid for their big tickets items in life; houses, education, child care, healthcare, and etc.
While the items you mention are a piece of the puzzle, the reason I've heard most often for why Harris is winning with women over 65 is abortion. Specifically that these women remember the coathanger days, and after that horror they lived the majority of their lives under Roe v Wade, which basically amounted to a women to have the right to control her own body.

Obviously these women are not worried about protecting that right for themselves, but they have daughters and granddaughters. They are incensed that a right they took for granted is being stripped away from other members of their family.

Yes it's a huge issue for younger women, but there is something about a rollback of what people consider basic human rights, that is motivating older women as well. There really is a huge gender gap surrounding this issue, and MAGA world lives in a bubble and don't really comprehend how deeply this issue resonates...

We learned one thing today

What I learned from the game yesterday is . . . I'm Pavlov's dog; when IU got down 10-0 my IU football conditioning kicked in and I was getting anxious about the outcome of the game. This IU team does not panic, does not roll up the tent, and continues to play the most fundamentally sound football I've ever witnessed from an IU team. I certainly hope, much like our NW visitor's thinking in the post above, that OSU is thinking exactly like that poster and fully conditioned to handily defeating IU every season. Perhaps the team getting the eye opener will not be IU.

Hoosiers

I had no idea Kamara has another year. That’s great, he’s one of the best defensive linemen in the country.

He's got another year, Ponds has a couple years, Fisher has another, Ferrell has at least one.

Our defense is gonna lose both starting d-tadkles, Carr, Walker at backer and both Asburry and Jones on the backend.

We're gonna hit the portal again this off-season for sure. I just hope people don't come to conclusions because of where they come from.

Peacock Network?

I have a bunch of times where the feed on peacock cut out today, apparently I wasnt the only one this happened to! NBC sucks as a whole with peacock and how they kinda screwed Indycar over! This app wont last long!
