I think this is a terrible case, even if guilty it is the equivalent of driving 36 in a 35. But Hillary isn't an apples-to-apples comparison. The only thing they have here is that the corporation was involved, without that this wouldn't be a felony and I think there is no way they would have pushed only a misdemeanor case.

So I don't know what the state could have pursued with Clinton that is similar.

All the folks saying tis is a phony charge got me curious. So I went back to the DOJ (Trump's DOJ) and what they had to say (if anything) regarding the hush money payments...

This is 2018, and the release from the DOJ regarding Cohen who plead guilty and was sentenced to PRISON...

"According to the allegations in Information 18 Cr. 602 (WHP), filed by the United States States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (the “Office”), as well as previous court filings and statements in public court proceedings:

Between 2012 and 2016, COHEN concealed more than $4 million in personal income from the Internal Revenue Service, avoiding more than $1.3 million in income tax. COHEN also made false statements to a federally insured financial institution to obtain a $500,000 home equity loan.
