Trump Org and CFO charged

Sure it is. I want the serial grifter to go down. I don't care which of the many grifts they focus on first to accomplish that. Nobody is making up anything.

I think of it the other way, like Bill Cosby. What Cosby did is horrible, but it doesn't mean he didn't have the same rights anyone else has. I think that court got it right yesterday.

Trump isn't above the law as he thought, but he isn't below anyone else either. We must be a nation of equals before the law. IF this is the first time this sort of charge has ever been brought, that's a problem. If this happens in rare, aggravating circumstances and this case meets them, fine.

Part of the Trump organization's defense will be it is a common practice not to report bonuses, etc. as income. That could be but it's hard to have much sympathy for millionaires avoiding tax where the average Joe is not so privileged. The IRS has really slipped on enforcement especially for those that have the funds to fight, which Trump historically has done. I would not be surprised if this is a little bit of "got you" this time as they may be willing to invest more resources to prosecute the Trump organization than let's say Miramax (Harvey Weinstein) for similar behavior.

I am in complete agreement with you, except when you state that you think of it the other way (than I do). We seem to think the same way.

Rule of law is of paramount importance. If someone has committed 100 crimes, don't charge him with one that he didn't commit. But I don't really give a rats ass about which of the 100 that he did commit is first in line for prosceution. Go with what you can easily prove, I suppose. You must always meet the burden of proof.

Agree on Cosby too. The accused has rights that must be protected, even if it gets people off sometimes.

Wouldn’t you have to think they’re waiting on Rico, fraud type stuff not tax stuff. The irs has had him and his returns for a decade or more. If they wanted to get him they have a crim div
That's what I've said from the beginning. Who has been investigated more than Trump, even before he became President?

All this anticipation of him being indicated is a leftist wet dream.

Of course it's a 'got you'. The IRS has a history of targeting conservative groups.

Anyone else, and a fine would be levied and it wouldn't be a big deal at all.

If I am your boss and I give you the means to commit felonies, and in fact I flat-out ORDER you to commit felonies for my benefit, and then you are punished for committing those felonies,

it is not particularly unrealistic to think that I might have criminal liability.

In this case, since I have to spell it out for dullards like you, you are in the role of Cohen and (perhaps) Weisselberg.

i have no idea whether he'll be indicted or not; but i'd be surprised if it's for tax related matters given the irs' long history with him. my guess from what i've read is fraud/rico etc related to valuations in procuring loans. and maybe he'll sidestep that too and underlings will fall as he claims plausible deniability.

On every loan I've taken out, the lending company crawls up my ass for every transaction I've made over the last 30 years (maybe a slight exaggeration).

Do you really think, when someone loans Trump money, they don't do all those valuations themselves?

Developers like Trump always skirt the legal areas. I had a contractor on a house I had built go bankrupt right when the house was being finished. I had to go to court to get some escrow money that had been held back for a boat dock. Not much, but a few thousand dollars was a pretty big deal to me at the time.

The next year, we go to a home show around Geist. There is this same builder, showing another home in the home who that cost about twice what ours did. He'd just gotten rid of his debts by declaring bankruptcy and opening another business the next day under a new name. I know a lumber company that he owed so much to that it went out of business.

Now, is that right? No. Is it legal? Absolutely.

Trump has done what he's legally allowed to do. In business, it's not always what's right, but what's legal. I realize it pissed people off, but I highly doubt Trump has done anything to put himself in legal criminal jeopardy.

my guess, and it's truly a guess bc i'm talking out my ass, is that all/most/many developers like trump ride the fence of legality on valuations/lending/assessments/blah blah blah and they go their entire careers without investigations/indictments because no one put a spotlight on them and no one was out to get them. had someone wanted to get them for something they could have, and this is where trump may get jammed up. certain folks motivated to find something

Cops are not inclined to write you up for jaywalking. But if you have committed 100 other crimes and they know it, but they just can't quite prove it yet, you'd better not jaywalk.

Maybe. But if the lender doesn't due their due diligence, it's usually on them.

Just like when I built my house. This guy built great houses, so I assumed he was financially stable. I did wonder when he drove all the way to downtown Indianapolis to get me to sign a check - in fact, I even joked with him about needing the cash. He actually DID need it.

If' I'd have done my due diligence, I would have seen that he was hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to various suppliers. So, I consider that my fault. Lesson learned.

The construction business is a dirty business all the way around. My dad was an electrician and got burned so many times by contractors not paying him that he finally had to get out of the business. And his only recourse was to put a mechanic's lien on the property, which only came into play if the property was sold or changed hands. Even then, there were ways around it.

Politics isn't a whole lot different.

You have no clue to the depths of your stupidity do you? You seem to know all of these things, have you been called to testify and just how do you know all of these things as facts? I am sure you are also 100% sure the Clintons have never had as much as a unpaid parking ticket either. trump is rotting whatever was left of your brain and its fun to watch

Do you know what the 100 other crimes are as I'm sure you a referring to Trump. Just what actual proof of anything do you actually have or does this all come to you in your wet dreams?

I can read. The Cohen court documents are public record.

Under oath Michael Cohen made it clear that his crimes were committed under the specific direction of a boss named "individual 1" and were assisted by a financial officer named only "executive 1".

The crimes unveiled today may not be directly related, of course. But we have already learned a great deal about the criminal operation.

Do you really have 4 degrees?

Nah, I will gladly sacrifice Trump to start looking at Biden Family, Inc. as soon as power shifts again.
Another Benghazi, huh? Remind me who was convicted there?

It's not a witch hunt when you actually find dozens of witches.

I know it must be distressing to you. People like you have spent years trying to paint Jabba the Gut as being Jesus on Earth, and now it turns out he's more like Bernie Madoff than Jesus.

Thoughts and prayers!

My responses have little to do with Trump, more curiosity what spawns psycho, spastic nut jobs like you.

If Trump was anyone else, then he would have already been caught up in the me too movement and would be rotting in jail for sexual assault.

For everyone else this a civil claim with civil penalties. If any one ever used the office copier for a personal document, and didn’t report the copy as income, look out!
What about that pen that I took home from my employer's place? :) :)
