The Trump campaign had a hard time deciding how to characterize Kamala. They were all over the map. The post election strategy appears to be labeling her a socialist. She may turn left if she thinks that’s the parties future, but up to this point she’s always been a moderate in the Biden/Clinton mold. I don't see Kamala in the AOC mold. She is a loose cannon on some subjects not thinking before she tweets/speaks. Two examples:

1. Before any facts were known in the Louisville no knock raid, she tweeted that this was "murder" which was not only premature but also incorrect. This was bad police management but not murder and not even racially based. Leaders do not incite violence or speak recklessly.

2. During the debate with pence she had to get a shot in at Trump regarding the vaccines. She said if the Drs say it is safe she will take it...but if Trump says it is safe she not gonna take it. This was reckless and further hampers the ability to get the vaccine out and Pence was right to call her on undermining the process. What a leader would have said is: "I look forward to the day when the Drs/CDC declare a vaccine safe and effective so that my family and I can get vaccinated" Harris has a long way to go to be an effective leader.

I agree with you on the first point, although at the time, Kamala was running to be picked as VP and did this to get out ahead of being unacceptable to the left flank of the party. At the risk of showing my cynical side, I think that’s also why she was front and center at some BLM marches. Because she’s a moderate, she had to shore up her bonafides to left wing African Americans while being an AA.

On your second point, your quote of what she should’ve said is perfect, in a perfect world. But Kamala was playing hard ball in a political situation. I was surprised she said it, but it was exactly what I was thinking too, and I’m hardly a far lefty. Yes, she got in a shot at Trump by essentially saying in those few words that you can’t trust this President, and he’s willing to lie about something as important as the efficacy of a vaccine to win election, and risk your life in the process.

Kamala is still a bit inexperienced on the national stage and needs some more seasoning, but at least she’s not a pathetic, weak sycophant like 90% of Republican leaders.

It’s probably a good idea for all of us to have a healthy skepticism of anything the government tells us, but still carry a level of trust they are acting in our best interest. That’s why the free press is so important in a democracy. It’s their job to keep the government and politicians honest. We face a crisis in confidence of the press/media these days.

Once again, money being the root of this evil. You and me could start up a “news” station on radio or tv tomorrow and say any crazy, outlandish thing we want, and we’re good as long as we have an audience to pay the bills, and our outlandish salaries to boot.

No major media with a large audience is unbiased. They’re out there, but don’t have the readership or viewers the big players have to influence mass opinion. Biden will be given a short honeymoon, then the media will bust his balls like they do every President. That’s what they do!

If it appeared the media wasn’t aggressive with Biden during the campaign, it’s because Trump dominated the news cycle every day, by design. Biden’s team was content to sit back and let Trump be Trump, IMO. It took the focus off of them and allowed Biden to lay low. That’s a good situation for a gaffe prone candidate.
