Had more cash under Trump.

My retirement account was higher.

Gas was cheaper for my car.
Food was cheaper.
Heating was cheaper.
Housing was affordable.
Diesel transport of goods was cheaper.
My business costs were cheaper.

Airline tickets were more affordable.
Airlines had far less major failures leaving passengers stranded.

Car lots actually were full of new cars!

Major banks didn't fail.

Country not overrun with migrants.
Fentanyl deaths were not acceptable D policy losses.
Death, rape and child trafficking @ the border wasn't seen as ok, just part of the migration process.

I could go on, but the results of D rule have been highly educational to budgets of every age group.

I imagine the most of the middle & lower class is as fed up as I am & are ready for a change back to normality & prosperity of R rule.......even if it is, heaven forbid, under Trump.

Except for President Washington, or perhaps President Eisenhower, America doesn’t see presidents as outsized personalities or royalty. Unlike European democracies, our government was based on founding documents and principles, not based on remnants of traditional royalty. America began to change in the 21st century. Our view of the office of president is now almost exclusively driven by who holds the office, not by the job discrimination. The love/hate for Obama was immediate and profound. The hate/ love for Trump was more immediate and more profound. We have gotten to the point where no president will ever overcome our hate or our love. This is a deep and disfiguring wound for democracy with many causes.. People like Schmidt are among those wielding the knife.

Calling political opponents Fascists is now common. It is a trite and meaningless argument about policy. But it does further disfigure our democratic principles with people like Schmidt a major participant.

A free press and freedom of expression are vital for our democracy. Trump‘s personality generates so much hate that our rich and robust history of free press and free expression have suffered deep and disfiguring wounds caused by those who hate him. News is made up, News is concealed, and News is covered up to get him. People like Schmidt cheer that on.

Trump is not a threat to democracy. No president can ever be that so long as we remain true to our founding principles. The real threat to democracy comes from those who see so much evil in trump that any means to destroy him is legitimate notwithstanding the significant collateral damage to our system of justice, federalism, and democratic processes. Worse is that the collateral damage cuts deep into our history and founding traditions and principles so that they are becoming weaker and weaker as guide posts for our democracy. This has deeply damaged our democracy. .
