Got to take in the FC Cincinnati v Chicago Fire game on Saturday. Yet another sellout crowd. TQL Stadium was rocking when this happened in a 0-0 tie:

Lucho Acosta is incredible. Dude is just 5'3" and is on pace to be the likely MVP for MLS. He'd be a star for the USMNT if only he weren't Argentinian.

FCC has now won 9 straight at home this season. They're 8 points clear of second place in the entire league, sitting at 12-1-3. That's 39 points in 16 games. And to think just two years ago they were well on their way to a third straight wooden spoon.

We are number one in the west. City Cincy final! Where is the final?

LOL, just a slight problem.

Also, Zlatan would have one timed that out of the air.
You mean, like this (RVP was a classy goal scorer)

Can't be better than Zlatan's bicycle kick vs. England though?
That ball that comes across your body over your shoulder from behind is almost impossible to hit. The other goal I always think about is iniesta and Messi against arsenal. Where iniesta chipped it barely. In a tight space to think to do that was ridiculous

Arsenal under Wenger was beautiful.

FYI, we still don't have a USMNT manager if anybody's paying attention.

Of course went back down the Top 30 Zlatan goals rabbit hole - just look at how many Zlatan pulled out of the air in traffic (I realize, not as far out as RVP's) and flicked into the net with various parts of his foot or leg. It's just ridiculous.

The guy deserves a statue. He's the best pro sports player L.A. has ever seen.

Chamberlain

Kobe
Shaq

I mean, that's just basketball.

You got Koufax just off the top of my head for baseball

I'll give them football b/c LA football is trash, pro wise anyway. And no, I don't care they recently won a Super Bowl.

But yeah, your point stands.

That is crazy. How can they not know?
OK, so now I feel a bit sheepish. Apparently they play the MLS Cup at the home field of the higher seed team. It's your fault, as you confused me by asking where the game would be played. ;)

Format is still a bit wonky, as they have 8 v 9 in each conference as a wild card game, then the the next round is best of 3, followed by single elimination games.

If FCC were to make it to the MLS Cup at home ticket prices would be astronomical. It's already gotten pretty expensive for games. Tickets for the game against Columbus were $90 and up.

I had no idea. Ticket prices here are ridiculous. It’s a little evil. Then the fees!! It’s really not affordable at all for a family. Only rich families and guys at the games

The most expensive season ticket in the Premier Legaue is a touch over 2000 GBP. Man City, who are going to win the treble, charge only 350 GBP for theirs.

Now, I'm certain the secondary market is insane but still.

Edit: Yes, it's real.

Stl has the most expensive tickets in the league at the moment
. Most start at $100 on seat geak who partners with the league. Season tix were cheap. It’s buying tix for individual games that’s brutal. Throw in absurd fees, parking, concessions you are easily at $600 - $700 for one game for a family of four. That said the prices do seem to be dropping slightly. It’ll be interesting to see what it’s like in four years. Or with a bad team.

The problem with it is that L.A. didn't get peak Zlatan. He was a shell of his greatness by the time he walked up and down the field with the Galaxy. It's like saying Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete Washington D.C. has ever seen because he played for the Bullets.

Oh, wait, that might work for D.C. sports.

Nope Darrell Green played in Washington so he'll always the greatest "athlete" to play in DC.

One of my favorites growing up and I lived in Indy. Strange. Loved Art Monk too. and Riggins. Doug Williams.

From another angle (and I don’t get why they only sell tickets for one side of stadium for US Open Cup games)
