My guess is he couldn’t resist the internal demands that the best units were parceled out equally rather than held as a cohesive force.Probably a lot of service infighting for resources. We had some of the same issues in WWII.

The Ukes did a pretty good job, stopping the Russians and fighting a defensive war. They found their offensive capabilities to be lacking. My guess is he couldn’t resist the internal demands that the best units were parceled out equally rather than held as a cohesive force.
I was referencing Zaluzhny…I don’t know if it would have changed anything but I think he messed up. Should have demanded the best units remain intactThe Ukes did a pretty good job, stopping the Russians and fighting a defensive war. They found their offensive capabilities to be lacking.
They're past the immediate threat of total destruction - they need new strategies moving forward and I think it's good they're willing to critically look at their situation and make changes.
I think Zelensky is a helluva leader. Maybe not a military man, but he is the man in charge.
I agree and if he didn't see that a new strategy should be developed, he needed to be dismissed.I was referencing Zaluzhny…I don’t know if it would have changed anything but I think he messed up. Should have demanded the best units remain intact
Impressive tracking, but not a very big bang.
I agree and if he didn't see that a new strategy should be developed, he needed to be dismissed.
I think it's good anyway for top military people to be replaced regularly. Otherwise they start seeing themselves as infallible and can get locked into tunnel vision.
I'm sure he understands the Russian military mindset.
General Syrsky was responsible for holding Bakhmut and got the rap for burning thru manpower Soviet-style
Without being inside the command post, knowing exactly what happened is impossible.I'm sure he understands the Russian military mindset.
This shows that Ukrainian intelligence provide excellent visibility into Russian operations in Crimea.Russia is being depantsed by Ukraine
Ukraine hits Russia's Ropucha-I class LST Caesar Kunikov with USV attack - Naval News
On February 14, 2024, the Main Intelligence Department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR) published a video on its Telegram channel showing a Magura Kamikaze USV attacking a Ropucha I-class landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.www.navalnews.com
Have you seen the new refinery "accidental fire" for today? There was to be a lot of Ukr SOF feet infiltrated on the ground. Make them bleed at home ! (metaphorically of course). Kinda. This shows that Ukrainian intelligence provide excellent visibility into Russian operations in Crimea.
Surveillance and target acquisition systems doing excellent work
And the attack on the Kunikov occurred at the extreme operating range of the USVs. Hmmm….Have you seen the new refinery "accidental fire" for today? There was to be a lot of Ukr SOF feet infiltrated on the ground. Make them bleed at home ! (metaphorically of course). Kinda.
Published extreme ranges... Muahahahahaha... gawd I love Russian russian ships becoming novelty for recreational divers for the next 300 yrs. Oh, and the fish love it too.And the attack on the Kunikov occurred at the extreme operating range of the USVs. Hmmm….
Ukraine lost a lot of men there, too.Looks like Ukraine has pulled out of Avdiivka. That is a big loss, it gives Russia much more control of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Yes, was looking at that … ISW discounts Russian claims of a disorderly Ukrainian retreat.Looks like Ukraine has pulled out of Avdiivka. That is a big loss, it gives Russia much more control of Donetsk and Luhansk.
You make this evaluation after Ukraine pulled back from a position previously occupied by Russia?Ukraines death will be a slow one. I fear the time for a negotiated settlement and freezing the lines of control has come and gone. Putin has the upper hand now and will not stop until Zelensky is toppled and a pro-Russian government is installed.
This was always the way it would end. But NATO’s objectives have been met. The Russian military extremely degraded. It’s just too bad Ukraine needed to lose an entire generation of young men to meet those objectives.
Does the Ukraine spending bill have a provision for 100K military aged males? Otherwise its passage is just delaying the inevitable at best.
Where do you plan to find 100K (200K?) fighting men so Ukraine can launch offensives to take back its territory. You make this evaluation after Ukraine pulled back from a position previously occupied by Russia?
There's a job for you at the CIA.
Sorry - my reply to you was too snarky. I just don't see where one setback dooms the Ukes to defeat.Where do you plan to find 100K (200K?) fighting men so Ukraine can launch offensives to take back its territory.
Why do you delude yourself into thinking that anything other than Russian annexation of the land they currently control is the very best case scenario for the ending
of this conflict?
Orcs lost 3 birds today... Link below.Sorry - my reply to you was too snarky. I just don't see where one setback dooms the Ukes to defeat.
I don't know the Ukrainian population and how many are draft-eligible, but they aren't tapped out. They're talking about another call up, so they must have some they can call up. Contrary to popular belief, teens turn 18 every day in Ukraine. They haven't all moved out. In fact, in most of the country, reports are that those outside the war zone aren't affected by the war much, other than economically.
I think the F-16s coming online will make a big difference and I think Ukraine special forces attacking inside Ukraine will have an effect.
There are any number of scenarios where Russia could withdraw, including the death of Putin. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion at all that Russia will take over all of Ukraine.
Based on General Syrsky’s interview, we can expect Ukraine to give more ground.Looks like Ukraine has pulled out of Avdiivka. That is a big loss, it gives Russia much more control of Donetsk and Luhansk.
A Pyrrhic victory, at best.Based on General Syrsky’s interview, we can expect Ukraine to give more ground.
The Avdiivka Salient will probably be abandoned, and there may be some Russian gains in the Kupiansk-Kreminna area.A Pyrrhic victory, at best.
It's a Russian Breed's Hill.
What did he say?Based on General Syrsky’s interview, we can expect Ukraine to give more ground.
Ukraine now on defense. They are getting swarmed at every angle. The situation at the front is tense and involves daily Russian offensive maneuvers in several directions. What did he say?
