Orrr was it actually missiles? Isn’t jamming, over the horizon high value kills what the F-16 excels at?
Total speculation here, NOTHING but spit ballin.
Not really ..
F-16 are multi role planes that were designed to replace the A-4, A-7, F-105, F-4 in the attack role and to be a cheaper complement to the F-15 in it's air superiority role. Filling a fleet with F-15 was too expensive, the 16 was the perfect answer. The amraam gave it beyond visual range capability but it wasn't originally equipped with that, it wasn't originally equipped with ECM capability either except with attachable pods.

The newer blocks though do have both capabilities. If you see a two seater, one with a ventral spine that spine is loaded with ECM. That IIRC was a Isreali modification we adopted.

It's probably, along with the MiG 29, one of the best dogfighters in the air and could probably take out 15, 22 and 35 easily in a close dogfights ...

But the F-15, 22 and 35 were designed with see first fire first capability. And the 15 and 22 can chose when, and where to start combat, That is a huge advantage. Unbeatable if applied correctly.

In an air superioriy role - well any combat role, as our newer ships and tanks are also built see first fire first and being able to choose when and where - that's an advantage the 16 and 29 can't overcome. The 22 is even worse because as it has the same advantage plus the stealth ... imagine a small marble at 40,000 feet, traveling at mach 1 + ... that's it's radar signature. You can see it sometimes, but getting a lock is almost impossible.

The US is currently updating a lot of its equipment. New rifle is being tested and issued that has a pretty nifty advanced scope.

The vision for future air combat is stealth manned aircaft, like the 35, controlling multiple unmanned craft in support, plus drones, all integrated and networked to share information instantly with everyone from command and control to grunts on the ground. @TheOriginalHappyGoat (reminds me of battlestar galactica) one virus and the shit hits the fan..

All our active planes 15s, 16s, 18s, are being updated to work with the systems the 35 has. It's like a coach or quarterback in the air...

* Mistake: USAF didn't fly A4. It was carrier based. F-18 eventually replaced it not F-16..

That and the 35 is being produced faster and in more numbers than any aircraft. Our allies will be integrated like never seen before also. The US flexed on Turkey for buying Russian S 400s. Stopped the f35 order. Australia got forced to buy our stuff instead of buying French hardware too. Screw France.

I'm not really understanding what you wrote here, It seems it's a lot of gibberish. Maybe your fingers out ran your intentions?
Eitherway, Do to political/ government spokemanship, I think we miss the point that the US government doesn't sell arms. our "MIC" and the US government are two totally separate entities. Other then the fact that, that is only for show and they are actually joined at the groin, yet seperate for perception only. It's tricky, but once we agree that our government has assumed the war trade, just like communist Russia and China, while lieing to us abaout it, it's much easier to understand.
Out entire though and intention of what government is, if a total facad. Admin state run us, just like putin runs Russia, except Putin doesn't hide it. We are just dumber sheep with much better explosives.

You don’t understand. The f35 and new systems will integrate us and our allies. The US made it clear…you buy our hardware or you go it alone.

Yes we do sell military weapons and training to our partner nations and allies. The contract for Foreign Military Sales is between us and the other nation. Nations can go the direct route with the company, but only with US approval. Nothing is sold without Congressional approval.

History. Russia does the war of attrition. They will let bodies stack.
Yea I don't over look the reality, but I will admit I like seeing the Russian #'s go up and up. I think it's better for the world if it does drag out until, as your video below speaks, Russia runs out of hardware for decades and hopefully totally implodes. It's best for the world to pump up the shipments to Ukraine, in y opinion.

Wut?

Russian propaganda or did Ikraine shoot down a plane full of its own POW’s?

Likely the latter.

For those of you imbeciles that still think we need to retake Crimea….. You should all rot in hell for extending this nonsense.

There are no good guys in this fight.

You think they purposely did that? In WW2, we sank cargo ships filled with POWs, many from the Bataan Death March. Was that a sign we should have negotiated a deal with Japan?

Also, I don't know anyone believes getting Crimea back is possible, I don't. Putin hasn't laid out his bottom line, at least not to the general public . There are rumors he is offering to stop if he keeps what he has. That is 18% of the country which includes the mineral wealth. I can see why Ukraine isn't excited. If it were just Crimea, I would go for it myself. The bottom line, Ukraine has to decide what to give up this round, knowing it means Putin is that much closer to Kiev when he tries again in 5 years

Why didn't we make a deal with Japan before this:

Silly! You really think Ukraine knew that the enemies cargo plane had Ukrainians on it? You see that on CNN?

Yeah, flying a plane in a war zone - who could have predicted it would be shot down?

You beat me to it. We also bombed Dresden and other cities, knowing US POWs were there.

Sounds like Russia purposely sacrificed their plane and crew by flying these POW into a war zone where they knew Ukrainian air defenses would be capable of reaching them. Wouldn't surprise me if they leaked to the Ukes that it was a troop transport.

How's this for an interesting move...

There have been stories that a large part of Russia has been without heat and power this winter. The oblasts are ordered to build up military and don't have resources left for their ancient and failing infrastructure.

So I suspect Russia has a tremendous need for this money after the war. A huge number of tanks need built, an amazing number of ships and planes. She has a lot of severely injured soldiers to take care of. And she will have to deal with massive deferred infrastructure repairs/upgrades. Money is going to be critical.

So I think we should tell Russia that after July 1, this money goes to Ukraine 16% per month. That should create a negotiation incentive.

I’m sure that money is oligarch money, not money that would ever see it’s way to the common Russian.

We should be doing this Ukraine war notwithstanding to recoup some of the state sponsored cyber theft monies…
