Shouldn't you're ire be directed at the folks you vote for and not lefties? This would be expected from the left, no? "Congrats water on being wet!!".

Conservatives are supposed to be the counter to progressives. Help reign in spending. But you all haven't voted many actual conservatives into office in like 25 years. Spending has been as bad or worse under Republican leadership.

My understanding is that the vote was 212-212, Johnson voted to pass.
Non reach-around Republicans didn't vote for Swampy Johnson as Speaker for just this reason.

Nothing has even been voted on... WTF are you are talking about?

What Republicans didn't vote for Johnson for Speaker?

A hand full of MAGA Moron RINO Republicans voted against him last year. His support this year was unanimous from Republicans to retain the job. The MAGA Morons in the House aren't the solution, they're the problem.

That would be bad if it was true.

Trump said yesterday that he would consider eliminating the debt ceiling. Hmm. Not very "conservative" of him.
There's a case to be made for ignoring the debt ceiling, that the spending authorization effectively is what determines the debt and the ceiling is an artificial construct that can't limit the power of Congress to spend money.

Anyone that tells you that Speaker Johnson, or any Speaker for that matter, has the singular ability to pass a CR with 100% of the thing you want and none of the things you don’t want is lying to you, stop being so easy to lie to. He’s a coalition builder, not a king.

That said. I would it support this CR.

No worries President elect Musk will not allow it to pass.

Ummm....
$850k for a 'gay' Seniors Home
$15Million to pay college tuitions for Egyptians
$450k to a gay activist group to teach elementary school kids about being trans
$500k for a DEI zoo
$400k to a group providing teens with clothing to conceal their gender.
$3Million to inspect molasses
$15Million to make recycling 'more accessible'.
$100 Million to 'migrant' farm workers.

AND....a 40% raise for Congress because 'inflation'

A clean CR would be great. But Trump and Vance wan’t 110 billion in farm and disaster relief giveaways to predominately red areas. As well as a raised debt ceiling so he doesn’t have to worry about it his first year in office.

To get that, obviously, Democrats will also come to the table with their pork.

So what we have is Trump/ Vance negotiating a CR with Mike Johnson and Democrats. The CR comes to the floor, Musk and Vivek go scorched earth on it, now Trump/ Vance are sawing off the limb behind Johnson and making demands that Democrat’s will never grant.

I worry DOGE might be nothing more than a louder, more powerful, freedom caucus.

I mean Johnson has met how many times with Trump since the election? And I'm sure had many conversations about this issue. I don't know why Trump doesn't just push for a complete omnibus and clear the decks and not have to worry with the annual govt funding mess for a full year. Now this is all set to blow up again in March and he's going to have to sign a giant spending bill in his first two months.

There is no 40 percent raise for Congress in it. Which of your disinformation sites did you get that list from?

It's highly likely that everything on your list is false, but I looked through it for a few of them and they're not in there. DEI isn't in the bill. The individual words are in the bill, but not related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The bill doesn't even have the word Egypt or Egyptian in it.

Here's the bill. Try to find that stuff in it:

Musk is relishing his role as the hatchet man. Remains to be seen how long he's allowed to keep it up -- Trump can't be happy with all the references to President-elect Elon and President Musk that are being bandied about.

I'm just glad to see Trump and MAGA types supporting an African-American.

I can only imagine that he thinks that's the bill the "Deep State" wants you to see and the real one is the one he read posted by some weirdo like that guy Catturd.

I linked the bill, look at it. Search through it. Why don't you make the slightest effort to look at sources rather than believe every frickin' word your dumbass and clueless Twitter Twits post?

I'm totally against unnecessary spending. I'm also 100 percent for facts and accuracy. It's not possible to have a good debate without that.

No one has had time to read a 1500 page bill and you know it.

Vivek said he read it last night....
He also claimed it could be condensed to 10, but it can't be. A summary could be, I'd think. These bills are long because it makes changes to the US Code if passed and they talk about every single change or addition in detail. Look at it to see what they look like. I had to go through NDAAs (National Defense Authorization Act - supposed to be one every year) bills and try to figure out how they affected us when I was in the military at a couple of commands. It's not easy. They're also double spaced and have wide margins so a 1500 bill is really less than half of that. Summaries would be good for the general public.
