Recruiting

You want to go $50? I’ve offered to bet that and more and have gotten no takers. The point is the members of the Negative Nancy Whine and Troll Club don't have the courage to back up their gloomy predictions.

Does he not realize that all those coaches started slow in the big leagues and Archie was the most decorated prior to taking a big league job?
https://d1scourse.typepad.com/blog/...asketball-coaching-tenures-from-1-to-351.html

Key findings:
* Only two power conference coaches are five years into their current tenure without an NCAA tournament bid: Stanford's Johnny Dawkins and Oregon State's Craig Robinson. Only three (Dawkins, Robinson and Washington State's Ken Bone) are four years into their current tenure without an NCAA appearance.

It doesnt have to take that long...in fact...only three Power 5 Schools kept coaches that couldnt get it done going into year 4 - Oregon St, Stanford, and Washington St...

Archie is coaching at Indiana! Not Oregon St, Stanford, or Wash St.
IU fans on this site have severely lowered expectations for Archie’s Hoosiers...

True this data is a bit dated(2013) - but of 351+ schools, Id bet it doesnt change much annually.

Agreed. You got nothing except a moronic post saying Bob Donewald was a better coach than Gene Smithson. You’d get laughed out of Normal with that whopper. Truly idiotic.

Where did I say Donewald was better than Smithson? Please quote that post for me.

What I did say was that fans were critical of Donewald because his teams were low scoring...until they went 24-7 and made the NCAA tournament for the first time ever. Then he followed it up with 2 more NCAA tournament seasons (23-8 and 22-8). His teams were so successful, the students pushed for, and got, a new basketball arena to replace Horton Field House.

You should probably learn to read before you attempt to respond. Maybe you won't look so stupid.

IU will make it next year and render your little factoid totally irrelevant.

And four years later, after the program deteriorated under his watch and with his players, he got chased out of town. You kinda forgot that little fact, didn’t you? Or, more likely, you weren’t aware of it. Either way, you look stupid. Again.

Archie’s two years in and barely 40 years old. He was in the Elite 8 at 35 and had taken a mid-major to four consecutive at-large appearances. You don’t do that if you can’t coach. Period. Compare where Archie Miller was at age 40 to just about ant long time successful coach and Archie is WAYYYY ahead of the curve. Just like anything in life, you get better with experience. Find me a coach who says he was better at 40 than 55 or 60? You’re dumb now, give it 15-20 more years and you’ll be even dumber.

No, actually, that was irrelevant to my point, which is still flying over your pin head.
Learn to read, ordfan. It will change your life.

It was irrelevant because it blew your point out of the water. They didn’t complain about BD because of his emphasis on D, they complained because the program deteriorated under his watch. No sense trying to explain your stupidity. Any Redbird fan would laugh in your face and tell you to find something else to discuss if you knew as little about the subject as you do.

Who was ordfan? I looked him up and he’s mentioned, but it says he signed up in 2001 with 0 posts.

The same narcissist, pessimistic troll whose either been banned or had to change handles to save face for being labeled an even bigger douche with each account. Currently posting as PranksterMary.

Kevin Ollie won a NC at 42 years old...Who gives a damn?

Try crawling out of Archie’s bunghole before you post again. You are definitely WAYYYY up there.

No...they complained, and booed during his first season...due to the low scoring nature of his teams following Smithson's fast-paced play. They got on board when he took them to the NCAA tournament for the first time ever.
You know less about this topic than IU basketball...and I didn't think that was possible.

You keep denying how all of that turned out. He got chased out of town you idiot. Why do you keep omitting that fact? You know nothing about ISU. Stop pretending.

Once again...has nothing to do with my post. Yes, he got fired there and at Western Michigan, and that's irrelevant, too, ordfan.

Just admit that you know next to nothing about either Bloomington.

Well, since ISU is in Normal, not Bloomington, you’ve now shown your little tale about ISU was based on nothing. And I actually graduated from IU and lived in Bloomington, IN, unlike you.

IR 16 is posting under a couple different handles. Funny guys here.

I know. He is going to make sure he keeps his lips firmly pressed on Archie’s tooshie with his IR 16 handle. It would nice if he at least gave some hints at his other handles. It would make his posts more interesting.

Put your money where your mouth is. I’ve offered a standing bet that IU will make the tournament next year. So far not a single person that has predicted IU won’t make the tournament, like you just did, has accepted it.

Terms are simple:
1. Accept the bet and let me know if you’re in for $5 or &10.
2. I’ll put your username on the list of those accepting the bet (so far there is no list).
2. After the winner is determined, we’ll work out the details for payment using Venmo.

Venmo makes it easy for those of you that wish to remain anonymous can stay so. I’d be good with exchanging names at settling time for paying with a check if desired.
I agree, I believe IU will make the NCAA Tornament.

A couple of them are posting under multiple handles.

C'mon snarly...you are better than this. You need to scrape ordfan off.

All they know - actually know - is we lost too many games last year. The rest is just rationalized petty vindictiveness disguised as reasoning....ie butthurt and emotional. Notice something...the chronic complainers know nothing about the game beyond that of an average fan . Dunning Kruger in full effect.

Wrong. He would still look stupid. Because...he's stupid.

Snarlcakes does know a lot about being an incessant douchebag. I’ll give him that.

I have no doubt that toy actually belongs to you. You get dumber with every post. Can’t believe you tried to talk Smithson and Donewald and then didn’t know what actually happened there. What an idiot.

There is so much failure in this post. So few words, so much wrong. Isn't it about time for you to adopt a new username, ordfan? This one is not fooling anyone. Everyone knows it's you.
