Racist July 4th attack at Lake Monroe

Dude, you're claiming that someone went in and edited a video posted on a personal FB account. And I got the link thru the comments section of one of the youtube videos I watched...

So how did these editing savants not only find these obscure FB videos to edit, but also edit the girl jumping on the hood while managing to show the passenger still outside the car while the car is moving forward and forcing her to step back. You don't think it's damning that the driver is already moving forward while her passenger who got out to move the scooter is clearly still outside the car and his door is even shut? Who does that?

And did they somehow manage to edit in a CROSSWALK. Because I guarantee you that someone standing in front of your car at a CROSSWALK has the RIGHT OF WAY.

Don't believe me? Drive-thru a crosswalk the next time someone is just standing there...Inside the CROSSWALK... Then tell the cop that the pedestrian was blocking your way and that YOU have the ROW..

Btw the Fox 59 video clearly shows the car driving up Walnut (with the girl on the hood) in front of Bishop Bar. That's basically the corner of 4th and Walnut, 123 S Walnut to be precise.

I really want to hear your explanation for how the driver can pull forward towards a person standing in a crosswalk. I'm guessing this is part of the reason the driver was charged with criminal recklessness

are you saying that there are zero edited/doctored videos on facebook?

i don't do facebook, but don't believe that for a second.

i'll stand by my assertion i believe the videos are edited.

unfortunately, the original video i watched was quickly replaced.

See below the fantasy that winners posted, and you'll see exactly why I posted what was said by the guy involved on tv. Nobody was "trying to impose their will" on that lady. They just wanted her to wait until no one was left in the road before she drove forward and someone was possibly hurt.

As I already posted, the protestor interviewed on local news said that the woman in front of the car jumped on the hood to keep from being run over. And when the driver accelerated he was afraid the other woman was going to get thrown off. So that's when he grabbed on to the door handle to try and slow the woman down or stop her altogether.

Now winners and I have presented entirely different scenarios, and people can choose what they want to believe. But I posted my info to provide a counterbalance to what winners and others were posting throughout the thread.

Yet for some reason, my post was the only version/post you chose to attack as a rush to judgment. I was just countering info I came across which disputed the nonsense posted earlier in this thread.

You post with confidence, the account of a person hanging on the side of a car after they have had time to think about what to say and then you double down on it here.

I have a novel idea...why don't we wait to see what those charged with executing a thorough investigation determine before we run off point it the "enemy" yelling "nana nana boo boo"

As expected posters are lined up neatly on either side, seeing exactly what they want to in the vids and pointing fingers at the enemy. I could have saved you all time by accurately lining up and posting the two versions:

Version 1 Old bag white supremist comes to Btown to confront peaceful mask-wearing social-distanced KPop-dancing heroes protesting for the life of the nearly lynched man out trying to enjoy the fourth. White supremist old bag and her white supremist passenger assault a heroes scooter then intentionally plow into a peaceful hero who was politely asking the old bag to wait while a family of baby ducklings crossed the road. Old bag hits the gas with the premeditated intent to kill her and as many other rays of sunshine as possible.

A second hero tried to intervein begging the bag to stop for the lady she plowed into and the baby ducklings. Old bag proceeds to drag both of out heroes down the street squashing the ducklings where she flings them off the car and then backs up over them shouting "Four More Years"!!

Version two. Our hero had used her last two gallons of gas to drive to Btown to apply for a third job so that she could move from the motel that Nancy Pelosi had put her in to keep her dependent on the Dems. Accidentally encountering the assembled anarchists looting the Bluebird of photos and tearing down the statue of "Bobby".

Noticing that our heroes had a "support the troops" sticker and Toby Keith's iconic "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue" playing on the eight track the druggie thugs screamed "get em". They ran up to and onto the car pounding on the hood and screaming socialist propaganda with crack teeth halitosis into our heroes' faces. Our heros...fearing for their lives not to mention the thought of Bobby's statue sharing the same fate as the Showalter dolphin in 1981 begged the thugs to stop. Suddenly ten more crack-addled thugs show up behind the car and push it into the thugs in front...intending to edit the videos enough to frame these 'Merican Patriots.

See...I could saved you all a lot of time.

We know what they determined, they have charged 2 counts of criminal recklessness and 2 of leaving the scene.

Now it is up to the court system to determine if that sticks.

He's also confident in the type of bar she frequents and that she's been in jail before this incident.
Cosmic does a lot of pigeonholing of people.

I Wonder if CS2 thought his “versions” post was funny as he posted it? He obviously spent some time and thought on it.

Took me like six minutes. I have been here long enough to see this for what it is. You seem to have a nerve stepped on...so thanks for the compliment.

I can play that, too...
Looks like I really got under your skin. I look forward to your reply, which will confirm it.
He’s correct tho bulk. Pick any topic and an argument will follow with the same 10 people arguing their predictable argument and the same 5 countering predictably. Then one or two crazy extremes on each said. I guess that’s just the way it is. Lots of folks with strong unrelenting beliefs that color what they see. I’ll never forget reading a post about the rioting and looting and how the people being charged are Republicans. Being that entrenched limits discussion. And I know both sides are guilty of same. It’s just every thread ends in a totally predictable insult-laden impasse.

That sensational headline about the “attempted lynching” proved not to have any legs to it. The story has since died. The complaint by Booker, who’s career is based upon the social injustice, Made the altercation with the “White Supremacists” an exaggeration for personal gain. He was “triggered” the moment those white guys started yelling at the party goers for trespassing and he made the most of the opportunity.

Also, with the “racist” person who drove into the pack of protestors, angered by the travesty of an attempted murder by public hanging (cough, cough) did you see that floozy in the mugshot? It’s not like she was wearing a MAGA hat and sporting a rebel flag on her pickup like the media wants you to think. She just got pissed off because she got caught in traffic and was afraid to be late for happy hour at the next bar. There’s a reason the media hasn’t announced her blood alcohol numbers. She was so popped she couldn’t see straight. A protester jumped on the hood as she kept moving forward. The other person “run over” was holding onto the door handle trying to get to her as she pulled forward. He could have let go at anytime, but must have known the cameras were rolling and it made for a better show. Much of the liberal media’s reporting lacks real substance past the sensationalized, biased headlines. The stupid people of the world (of which there are many) don’t know that and wouldn’t care even if they did and the media knows THAT.

While I think Abraxis is jumping to conclusions - my BS detector was beeping from the get go of this one.

I think you should ask yourself, respectfully, why you’re so inclined to believe this nearly unbelievable (friends not helping, video starting with him against the tree, not fighting back, begging the putrid rednecks to call him the N word, etc) story so readily.

Where did I say I believed the story? At worst, I said that I hoped they found the racist scumbags ( no doubt there, but that’s not against the law), arrested them, tried them, and IF they were found guilty, that they were punished to the full extent allowable by the law.
You would agree, right?

How did the cops get a tox screen when the lady hit the two people on a Monday, yet didn't get arrested until a Wednesday?

The spin should be good on this one.

not sure what you mean. You’re saying that because the asses at the lake are racist you want them found and arrested and tried? I’m pretty sure the cops know who these assholes are.

And if you’re referring to the protest driving incident I haven’t been paying attention at all.

Not the driving incident.
I guess what I’m saying is that they should be held accountable, if they are guilty of a crime. I apologize for not stating it that way originally. If not, then let’s see if the accuser needs to be investigated. No problem there.
But, at no time did I indicate my level of belief. That being said, I wouldn’t be too surprised if they are guilty, but that’s JMO.

Actually, the lazy way out is to always always always immediately jump to the narrative of choice and start attacking. It is a lot more work to look at the bigger picture and determine what really happened even when the answer is a more complex combination of right and wrong on both sides. Your comments are classic Projection.

Oh, and the cornered hyper-partisan offender always claims everyone not parroting the "correct" version is a card carrying member of the other team. So predictable.

What I saw appeared to be an extreme exaggeration of what the headline claimed happened. They saw the same videos I saw. I didn’t even hear the “N-word thrown out in the heat of battle, only a barely decipherable, “Get the noose” without seeing a rope. My story is as plausible as their’s, based upon the video evidence. The first thing the judge will ask is, “Was anyone drinking?” Yes, your Honor. Then, “How many?” Everyone, Sir! You see where this is going other than nowhere?

Well, you know what they say, "even a blind squirrel"...

I was right about the previous jail terms, but I missed the mental illness aspect...I actually feel bad for calling her an old bag, considering her mental history. But some people here just seemed to ignore the fact that the encounter took place at a CROSSWALK. She seemed to engage in reckless behavior and drove as if she was very angry. Now we have possible reasons why...

"Bennett served time in the Indiana Women's Prison from September 2008 through August 2010 on a felony charge of stalking.

Over the last 20 years she has been arrested on a variety of charges, which include intimidation, harassment and check deception. According to online court records, in November 2010, Morgan County Superior Court said she suffered from a mental disorder and ordered her to be transported to the Evansville State Mental Hospital for treatment."

That report was posted back on July 9-I just wasn't aware of its existence until this morning...

https://indianapublicmedia.org/news...est-driver-who-ran-car-through-protesters.php

Looks like I was also right about the CROSSWALK ASPECT, and who is supposed to yield. At least according to Ryan Mears, Marion County DA...

"As accounts and footage of these incidents make their way to social media, a common defense levied in support of the drivers is that protesters should stay out of the street if they don't want to be hit.

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears previously told IndyStar that restricting a roadway in Indiana can potentially lead to a misdemeanor charge.

But Mears added that if someone is driving a vehicle, that person always has to yield to pedestrians, whether or not the driver necessarily has the right-of-way.

Ken Falk, legal director at the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana, says the focus should be on the response to protests, not debates about who has the right-of-way.

"What generally happens when there are spontaneous protests is police close the streets to vehicular traffic," Falk said. "If a sports team wins the championship and people flood into the streets, you don't see people saying they should be arrested for blocking the streets. You see the police reacting to that and diverting traffic."

Falk said the Supreme Court has long held that “traditional public forums” such as streets, sidewalks and parks are open for First Amendment activities."

The people who were Vauhxx's friends/rescuers seemed pretty nerdy. I actually think it's pretty likely they were NOT drinking. As to the video audio, one guy refers to "nappy hair", and I think the word "boy" is used as well. Again I think the most disturbing aspects of the event happened before the bystanders/friends got their cameras out. I think the commotion is why people were drawn to the scene in the first place. They were elsewhere and heard the noise...

Yeah, they located her living in a Scottsburg hotel. You ever been to Scottsburg? Meth capital of IN. She was probably put up there by a left wing organization hellbent on keeping the natives restless until Nov. She might have been paid off big time to stage the bogus event...an outside agitator living in Greensburg, a long way from either Bloomington or Scottsburg. The whole thing might have been systematically orchestrated, including the “rednecks” encounter with the most radical left wing man they could possibly meet after a few beers. What are the chances this one black man among a crowd of what looked like 15-20 would meet like this? I’m not so sure the ensuing protest rally was as “spontaneous” in anger as advertised in the subsequent story.

Isn’t it uncanny that schools are now talking about restarting some sports in January, after the election? How convenient for them! Keep the Covid scare going to give the illusion Trump was not prepared. Make it an election issue! Make me puke!

Hmm, did you quit reading this board?

Hey Rick-

The whole series of events was a topic of conversation at the dog park this morning. Turns out a lady who teaches at Edgewood has a good friend and the girl who was thrown off the car is his DIL. Apparently they considered taking her back to the hospital yesterday because her eye had swollen shut. They decided it might be due to allergies, so held off on a return trip for the time being. But they warned her that if she noticed anything that could be an indication of continuing head injury that she should head back to the hospital immediately...

It all conjecture at this point...he said, she said, they said, it said. A lot of jawing back and forth, relatively minor posturing of physicality. I guess the black dude will try to get them on a detainment rap after the “attempted murder via public hanging from a tree” accusation doesn’t stand up. The dude’s hired lawyer (probably glad to do it for free) sounds like a real “stone bitch” out for blood. People like this always seem to have a way of finding each other. They stick together in support.

Hold on, I thought we were talking about the lady that ran over the two people with her car. She was arrested two days later. You said the media didn't put in her blood alcohol level in the reports. I questioned how that was possible when she got arrested two days later. I didn't write that, you did.

You are all over the place with your ramblings. You should stick to one topic and stay there. You went from the guy in the woods, to the protesters to now saying there's no sports until after the election (you do know college football is doing everything they can to have a 10 game season, correct?).

You need to reign it in a little bit.

Are you a card-carrying QAnon member or just trolling?

As to the "illusion" Trump wasn't prepared, there is a lot of evidence pointing exactly to that fact. Defending Trump is difficult at best, because he has made such a cottage industry out of lying that it's hard to unravel fact from fiction, even for his defenders.I'll give you one example...

Remember when both Trump and Kayleigh were trying to say that the lack of PPE and other equipment including ventilators and testing supplies was not his fault because Obama left the cupboard empty. And of course, Trump's cult naturally accepted that claim
and as usual, were quick to absolve Trump...

The problem is that while he made that claim publicly, the truth is that he told a far different story to Congress in budget deliberations for both 2019 and 2020. The Trump Admin advocated for CUTS to the pandemic preparedness budget outlay and argued that the money could be better spent in other areas. Now they either lied to the public about inheriting an empty cupboard or they lied to Congress, because when they requested the budget cut they justified that position on the fact that Obama had left a surplus and so it wasn't necessary to keep funding at that previous level. The St Louis Post Dispatch exposed the duplicity in May 2020...

“We inherited a broken, terrible system …,” Trump told reporters on April 18. “Our cupboards were bare. We had very little in our stockpile.” That was Trump’s attempt, frequently repeated by the president and recycled in White House presentations, to lay responsibility for the inept pandemic response at Obama’s feet, as if three years in office were insufficient for Trump to repair all the supposed damage his predecessor wrought.

Except it’s a lie of colossal Trumpian proportions.

We’ve taken the time to dissect Centers for Disease Control and Prevention budgets from the year before Obama left office all the way to the present. Trump can lie, but the numbers cannot. Obama left office with an unblemished record of building up the nation’s pandemic preparedness. Trump systematically sought to dismantle it.

Perhaps because of his experience with the 2015 Ebola outbreak, Obama sought to leave his successor fully prepared to confront future pandemics. He asked in his fiscal 2017 budget request to boost federal isolation and quarantine funding by $15 million, to $46.6 million. Congress approved $31.6 million. In Trump’s three years in office, he has not requested a dime more in funding.

Obama asked to nearly double his own $40 million outlay for epidemiology and laboratory capacity. Congress balked, but Obama left Trump with that $40 million as a starting point. What did Trump do? In his 2020 budget, he asked Congress to cut that number to: Zero. Zilch. Nothing.

Obama’s goal was $629.5 million in funding for pandemic preparedness, though Congress only gave him $612 million. If Trump was so worried about a bare cupboard, why did he ask Congress to cut the 2020 pandemic preparedness budget by $102.9 million? In the 2019 fiscal year budget, he sought a $595.5 million cut in the overall public health preparedness and response outlay.

The CDC budget in Obama’s final year mentions “epidemiology” or derivatives of the word 252 times. Under Trump, the word appears 129 times. The phrase “pandemic preparedness” appears exactly once in Trump’s 2020 budget."

The numbers on their own are damning enough. But the kicker is this...

Interestingly, Trump’s own 2020 budget contains a chart comparing the nation’s public health emergency preparedness before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and where it stood in 2016 (why it stops with Obama’s final year is unclear). Before 9/11, the nation had a 20% ability to mobilize in response to a health emergency, a 5% ability to establish an incident-command system, and 0% storage and distribution capacity for critical medicines and supplies. By Obama’s final year, the nation’s preparedness on all measurements was 98% to 100%. That’s by the Trump administration’s own assessment.

If the cupboard was bare, it’s because Trump swept it clean

I can link other research as well, but I think I'll wait till we see how dedicated a Trump defender you want to be.

There is the WAPO Oct 29, 2019 article describing a study that rated many countries' pandemic preparedness metrics. Biden read it and commented the following day. Trump either didn't see it or decided not to acknowledge it.

There is the expose Rolling Stone did on the history of Pandemic Preparedness from Bush's first term up through present day https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/rolling-stone-timeline-coronavirus-america-982944/

And going back to summer 2019, there is the Trump Administration's abolishment of the role of US Pandemic Investigator in China. This was a position staffed by an American CDC connected Epidemiologist working within the Chinese Medical Apparatus that was a constant from at least 2007-2019.

That person (Dr Linda Quick) would have been aware of any dangerous viral outbreak. A huge part of her job was to travel with a team of experts to potential hot spots, monitor the situation, and keep both the US Govt and the CDC up to date on any potential disasters. You can read more here... https://khn.org/morning-breakout/tr...isease-outbreaks-in-china-several-months-ago/

I've discussed and linked all these accounts on this board on more than 1 occasion, but you're new (to this current discussion). So I assume you are unaware of the actual factual evidence when you claim Trump's abject lack of proper pandemic preparation is an "illusion"...

Ignorance is bliss until it morphs into plain old ignorance. That's where education and facts come in to play...

I didn’t realize I was that dead on. I apologize to your fragile feelings, and will post accordingly in the future.

I remember reading several posts here from time to time correctly reminding the assembled posters that one side will always dig up as much dirt as possible on the accused or victim in order to justify their version of what happened.

I'm surprised the pandemic hasn't resulted in a shortage of Reynold's Wrap aluminum foil.

I think you're jumping to conclusions thinking charges aren't coming. Think back to how long the police in GA were claiming the Arbery killing was "self-defense". It wasn't till the GBI got involved that the investigation really took off and slowly started to expose the truth.

The FBI got involved here within a week or so. The DNR officers are just not trained to deal with issues involving Civil Rights. They should probably have arrested those guys at the scene, just like the cops in Oregon did. But at the very least they should have been willing to interview witnesses and watch videos. That inaction likely set the investigation back a few days, but the FBI is investigating the "hate crime" aspect. Stay tuned- I think there's more coming...

You don't think Law Enforcement had THAT info when they decided what charges to press against her? Again, that info was made public on the 9th. I'm guessing the guys heading to Scottsburg to arrest her on Wed knew all of that info...

Btw, you still haven't addressed the whole driving towards a person standing in a crosswalk aspect... Do you not know the rules concerning cars (vehicles), pedestrians, and those pesky white vertical lines?

You do realize that at 9 pm on a summer night it's highly likely that some of the people/ cars she might have potentially hit while travelling erratically up Walnut from 4th to 6th at an estimated speed of up to 40mph might have absolutely no connection to the protest. Right?
