Pull the plug on this dogs--t now...

Gallo isn’t a leader, he is a shy sheep. Woody needs a self driven leader, because obviously, he isn’t inspiring shit.
Agree. But wasn’t Gallo’s rep coming in as a dog. A do everything guy that will be a good leader? He certainly isn’t that now.

Trey does not play like he used to. Maybe the injury, maybe he gets more minutes and has to pace himself.
Maybe it's something else?
This was the guy that defended Ivey so well that Ivey threw him to the ground and got T'ed up.

Maybe the leadership will start coming after Leal and Gallo are gone.
Woodson wouldn't know what to do with a self driven leader. We had one with TJD and won a single tournament game.
we are moving towards a new model. Gallo and Leal grew up with an appreciation for IU basketball, and they have been in this program for a long time. We are moving to a more mercenary program. We will have leadership, but not leadership that fosters a team culture. Certainly not a leadership that passes along what Indiana basketball is (or should be) to the next class of future leaders.

Hopefully we get a new coach in about 2.5 months to change course.

Keeping Woody around for another year was a bad move: IU wasted significant NIL, a new coach probably could have done better with the latest HS recruiting class, and overall it's just another wasted season.

The truth is we are gonna start over very soon. Nothing we talk about now will matter. We just need to fill time and talk about it.

Woody will be fired soon and we will mess up the next hire don’t worry.

We're not moving at all. We're stuck circling the drain endlessly. Wasted season. The good news is I don't think there's any way Woodson survives to next season. Either he or Dolson will be gone after this year and my money's on Dolson staying put.

If Leal wants to get into coaching I think he will do well. He's very smart.

I've had the Cheaney thought myself, but it's probably a bad idea. He's plenty old enough to have established himself as a successful head coach somewhere, if he had that ambition and the ability to do it.
Leal may be a smart kid and an ok coach somewhere at some point, but not at IU! I don't want him teaching his players what he has learned from his IU coaches!
IU needs a coach with an already proven successful college system in place! A system that can bring higher IQ players in that can run an offensive set to perfection. I don’t know what coach that could be, but CMW has failed miserably in this! I hate the NBA style system! It won’t work in cbball! But it is time to move on from CMWs clown show! Even if it’s before seasons end!

Absolutely agree, was not suggesting Leal as the next IU coach. If he would someday be the IU coach, it would be after proving himself elsewhere and climbing the ladder.

After “We're gonna run it back, but you guys gotta chill” I’m a pass on Leal.

exactly why it makes sense. he probably doesn't want the long term gig anyway

woody steps aside or gets fired (his choice), cc takes over and injects some new life/enthusiasm and we see what happens.

dolson does his job and next yr we start fresh

staying put makes no sense. we have nowhere to go but up

You won't need to pass, he will be irrelevant in 2 years just like the hundreds of other walk-on caliber players over the years.
He likely would have been more impactful if we had better coaching. Guys like him need structure, better team play on both ends, etc… he’s as good, or better, than many of the Purdue and Wisconsin guards throughout the years that didn’t seem to have the talent or athleticism, but had very good college careers.

Wait a minute, are you now off the Woodson train???

Are now realizing the "hump" that needs to gotten over is Woodson himself?

I'm 99% certain I've never promoted or propped up CMW as coach of IU bball anywhere or anytime, so I think you are confusing me with someone else.

In fact, lately I've been wondering what's more useful, Woody or a roll of TP that falls into an unflushed toilet?

If he had any respect for the IU basketball tradition he would resign citing health issues. He doesn’t and this was all about the long green.
