The NFL players who kneel during the national anthem have been receiving support from some owners and coaches per what I saw on Sportscenter tonight. They have made statements to the effect that what they are doing is noble, courageous and certainly within their constitutional rights.
These people are hypocrites and moral cowards. The sports establishment has forced people to stand and sing the national anthem at all sporting events from grade school, through college and professional. We have all stood and sung many times whether we wanted to or not because we felt it was the patriotic thing to do, or just to conform. Now, because some athletes "of color" have been disrespecting our country under the guise of exercising their right to "peacefully protest", these members of the sports establishment are coming out and acting like it is no big deal and how dare anyone question their right to do so or their motives.
There are many other ways that these rich pro athletes could protest and try to influence people's thinking on issues that concern them. There is no need to disrespect the country which has allowed and enabled pro athletes to become filthy rich and successful. By disrespecting the national anthem, they are basically giving a middle finger salute to millions of fans who have made it possible for them to live like kings with their mansions, yachts, and luxury cars.
To the mega wealthy, hypocritical and cowardly club owners, I would say that I hope that people begin to realize the kind of scum that you are, and begin to boycott your sports in droves until it seriously hurts your profits since money is all that you really ever cared about. You might also consider eliminating the hypocritical playing of the national anthem which you have always required of the fans before your games for some reason, since you have now made your true colors known by siding with those who openly mock and insult the practice.
