I'm not really sure this is a correct statement. There are some Trumpers that would vote for him even if he said he was a Fascist, although they may not vote for any other candidate who was a self-proclaimed Fascist.

In other words, candidates themselves matter. Obama as a progressive =/= Harris =/= Bernie. I realize you were just doing it for a fun experiment, but I'm simply pointing out that it will never be applicable to reality.

Fascism is hard to pin down. As is trump. He’s a hodgepodge of policy ideas that flip flop but largely fall congruent with a Clinton Dem. He uses rhetoric on the proud boys and the southern border and at times the constitution that can be construed or misconstrued as having fascist undertones or right wing populism depending on your semantic preference. That’s it.

He’s a known commodity. We’ve already had him as president. The left is sticking this on him to gain political points as the right does with communists, socialists, Marxist’s etc.

I consider the 'progressives' (they call themselves that) to be the more fascist of the two furthest apart wings of the parties.

But the more right wing Republicans aren't far behind, not far at all behind Democrat party Progressives on the fascism scale.

I'd vote for a classical liberal. But only the libertarians are anywhere near that description, and they probably aren't really classical liberals.
