Huh? The free cheese was great for old people. They own a majority of the assets, SS increases at the rate of inflation, and they have already paid for their big ticket items that increase at a faster rate than wage increases (Houses, Education, Healthcare).

Eliminate the wage cap and Social Security is solvent far into the future. It would be idiotic to turn around and give that away.

First thing any President should do is eliminate any tax payer getting back more than they put in per year. My daughter and SIL make probably 120k and got a refund back of 14k which was slightly larger than they put in. Always funny in February at the bank, people you know barely work will all of a sudden get a 8-9k deposit from the Government.
It is important and we should make cuts elsewhere. The isolationist streak among the MAGAs is very disturbing.
