No, I'm describing what the smart political move is for the Democrats. They are in the driver's seat.
Yeah, there's probably no scenario, even crazy ones, where McCarthy gets this done. He won't be speaker. GOP will have to align with themselves or someone else, but it won't be Kevin.
To be clear, I didn't think it was illegal or somehow illegitimate. Just weird.

I would offer that the Republicans' vision is no more than yelling "Democrats suck because they are all communists, progressives and/or liberals."
Republicans cannot define themselves in any other way except by saying "Democrats suck and we're not Democrats. That's what we Republicans are."
A couple cans of hair spray or Brylcreme would seal the deal.

Just so we are clear, I want to go back and do to these protestors EXACTLY what you are saying should be done to that couple. They are accused of the same type of crimes.

On the latter, I agree. On the former, I would think he's still 50/50. Will require an immense amount of arm twisting and a few present votes over the coming days. He first needs to win a couple folks over with bribes and go down the list.
Whom is the deal supposedly with? Will be interesting to see what concessions would have been needed either way.

It was my over the top side to make a point. Some of the people currently being held effectively committed the same crime as those in the article. Why are they still in jail two years later awaiting trial. Why can't that couple plea out like I am sure almost every person in the article I posted were allowed to do?
I am basically requesting equal treatment under the law. Either the Jan. 6th people are being overcharged or the Kavanaugh rioters were under. I think in the vast majority of cases it is likely the former.
