Malik Reneau could be the fourth recruit, and the Big Man we need, in next years class.

As I stated in an earlier post, if we have four of the Seniors leave, and move on, we could add an essential, and productive, big man to next years class, through recruitment, or transfer. And Malik Reneau would fill that bill perfectly. He's a 5 star talent, and we have an slight advantage with one of his teammates already committed, and signed, in Jalen Hood-Schifino. Now if only Hood-Schifino, and Woodson, can convince him to join them at Indiana.

The fact that some of these highly ranked players have not decided on where to go might be because the school they want to go to, doesn't know if the school will have a schollie available for them until the spring.
.....at least that's my spin on it

In this particular case its because the coach who recruited him to Florida left for another job. Georgia.

This why he is available but Busdriver's point is valid...there are some dominoes that need to start falling with regard to open slots and key players that will begin to clear up a lot of decisions.

New world we live in.

That would be great but I am not going to get too excited until we confirm we have an actual real shot at this guy. I could totally see him just following his coach to Georgia.

I'm also ready to 'sign him up', but we'd still have the problem at center. He's listed at 6'8" 210 lbs on 247 and 6'9" 225 on Rivals. He's not going to start at center, and he's not going to start ahead of JG at 4. So.......unless 5 guys leave and we get a true center from the portal we'll be going with Durr and/or LD (if one or both don't leave themselves).

JG is more than welcome to compete for playing time with Reneau (assuming he commits) if IU is dead set on playing both at the 4. Don't think that's going to be the case though.

You think they'd play MR at center? Do you think that's what he'd be signing up for?

Just saw about the ??s of whether JG will return. All bets off in that event, obviously.

I think he's a tweener 4/5. Playing the 5 is contingent on him putting on weight and strength which will come over time. Appears to be a solid 220-225 now, would guess he could add another 5-10 lbs of muscle by November. He's got an interesting skill set that intrigues me. Seems to be a defensive-oriented player first.

He was listed at 6'7" on Montverde's roster. He better eat his Wheaties if you expect him to play C as a freshman.

Durr and LD ugghhhhh

He's taller than 6'7. He's listed at 6'9 225 on Rivals which updated a few weeks ago. Reality somewhere between 6'8 and 6'9 and clearly putting on weight. As much as I'd love to have a 7 footer who can move and hit shots from the perimeter, there are few and far in-between. I'm all about assembling the best collection of talent and making it work.

He can shoot it too. Not volume wise but a threat.

If (when) we lost TJD & Race, in a perfect world we could land Sparks and this guy. Not an even trade but something better than nothing. And then Nick Zeisloft clone come say “hello”.

I still think TJD is going to return with Geronimo. Until they make decisions, recruiting doesn’t matter.
