The DL has the size needed and the # of players needed to do the job. We will have to see if they are disruptive enough to do the job this year. I think our DL could surprise a number of people this season.
Even though we lost seniors last year those seniors did not make enough plays. Jerome Johnson was our best do you lineman last year and he's back. Maybe the new young players can get off blocks and be quicker with size.
There is a lot of youth and inexperience on the interior, other than Johnson. We will be playing a lot of true freshmen and Jucos. Can these guys hold up against B10 east OLs?
These guys need to leverage that size and get it done this season, particularly in the fourth quarter.
Young players get the job done at other places so I hope IU's strong big DL men can do the job this year. IU needs the DL to surprise teams this year.
The depth chart in the media guide has Demarcus Elliott as 2nd string behind Harris. I don't think he was here for spring ball. We have redshirt freshmen as well. I think McCabe is one of the better weight lifters.
I’m not ready to use the word “slim” to describe Juan Harris. The guy is here to eat, lift, and move the center three yards back. I’m sure his diet has improved from Last Chance U though.
Always liked coach Hagan. I thought he had us overachieving on D-Line before he went to A&M. Like to see it again this year. Lots of bodies helps.
We need James Head and Beau Robbins to live in the opposing QBs face.
Don't ignore Stallings and Norris as pass rushers. Norris is bulky enough to play on passing downs this year; if he can use his speed it will be hard to handle.
I heard this, too, in some interview a while back. Not sure who said it but it might have been CTA.
Anyway, I remember hearing a lot about Nate and Wes a couple years ago and then Wes again last year and was wondering who were the heavy lifters this year. Stepaniak? McCabe?
Based on the pictures Beery has to be one of the best lifters on the team. It seems like the OL was pointed out as the best lifters this Off season and they look like it is a true statement.
Seems like the OL is getting in order. Beery should be in good shape moving forward. Saw him at the b-ball semi state when Carmel played and he's big.
Anyways a nice surprise on the DL here is Stephen Walker rollling in. Already over 300 and from Brebeuf. Some super nice adds. Someone mentioned the juco guys Juan and DeMarcus being able to play at this level. The juco schools they played at and against host many NFLers. They should be more than ready.
