Smocking. Maybe they haven't found the one he thinks he is guilty of, yet.

How do his lawyers get through the day? Their nerves must be shredded by teatime having to explain to a person who thinks he knows more than them to start with.

Looks like he or she is in deep.

Cohen, [prosecutors] say, schemed to pay for two women’s stories (Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, we now know) in violation of campaign-finance laws in order to influence the 2016 election, and did so “in coordination with and at the direction of Individual-1”

I’ve heard a LOT of talk from the right about “voter fraud”. And lots of measures have been introduced that combat innoerson voting fraud- which has been proven to be exceedingly rare.

And now, we’ve got two very real instances of election/voter fraud. Both involving...republicans, in races at the highest levels.

And I’ve read the outlets from the right- I read them every day. Almost zero outrage over the situation in North Carolina or Trump’s deception re: paying off porn stars to influence the election AND apparently at least welcoming Russian assistance to take down HRC.

What gives? Where’s the “right”eous indignation for these two situations? Or, is becoming clear that voter fraud isn’t the real goal of the restrictive voting measures?

You can’t have it both ways.

FWIW, I believe that voter fraud should be punished severely. No matter what the form.

So Cohen is looking like he's going to Federal prison for about 5 years. I'm still not clear on exactly what charges he pled guilty....but why wouldn't Trump be at least as partially culpable as the attorney doing his bidding?

He would be. That's the point.

Well, now, wait a minute. I keep hearing that the DOJ policy (not binding court law) forbids the DOJ from charging a sitting President with a federal crime while in office. I still see no reason that Trump won't get reelected, so how long does the statute of limitations permit federal charges to be filed?

If Trump is reelected, he'll be in office for eight years, which sounds longer than any statute of limitations I've ever heard of.

I don't want Trump to get a free pass forever, even if DOJ policy forbids charging him while in office.

He would be, but this is a federal case, and the current position of the DOJ is that a sitting president cannot be indicted. Not even SDNY can override Department-wide policy.
