I wish Luke Goode would quit launching 3s....

That’s why he’s here, to jack up threes. I say we can the threes and concentrate more on two point shots. IU shoots ~50% from two point range and sht from three range.

So after all these years of watching basketball...you think the best shooter on the team, should stop shooting?...that's what you have learned in 50+ years of watching?...Thank you for the testimonial. It does even more to prove my theory that IU basketball fans , as a whole, just suck.
Best shooter on the team! Lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you apparently deem yourself as a wisest of us all if we just suck because we see things the way they are . He is far from the best shooter on the team. Stats don't lie.

Defensive positioning on the wing is terrible. Ass facing lane as opposed to baseline.

Ballo can’t defend in pick and roll
He wasn't as bad today as yesterday. Yesterday, his misreads and mistakes defensively cost us at least 17 points. Today the transition defense and anyone guarding the ballhandler other than KC were terrible and the defensive rebounding still continues to be poor. That's effort .. and we lack it. Rice needs to hit the weight room, the slightest bump moves him from his spot. That's going to be a serious issue in the tackle basketball conference.

The players look confused especially when there's odd lineups on the floor, like they never played together before .. *eyeroll*.

Woody is working the ball through the least skilled player on the team, and his offense can't get our best scorers shots. Or can it ... Look at almost every play we run, don't ball watch, look away from the ball, there's an open shooter that never gets the ball almost every time. Make that pass instead of the post entry, and it starts defensive rotation or is an open shot if coverage is late. That post entry pass even if open on average scores less pts per pos than the outlet for a 3. Everyone knows this...

If you want to see it watch the L'ville game 1st half from the appx 18:40 point and the set they run. Five out princeton high post going into a sideline zoom action with denied handoff ending in a sideline high low MR to OB. We score a guarded basketball. Now look at where Carlyle is and how far his man is away when Malik sets to pass to Ballo. Then watch the one at around 17:25 same shit... Yes we scored on both, see the point about average ppp.

That's not a player mistake. Watching 3 years of Woodson, it's obvious that's what the coach wants. Make that pass the emphasis, like other teams do and it actually helps open up the middle. TJD at GS doesn't take guarded shots, he gets wide open dunks. I wonder why? .. *eyeroll*.

Playing inside/out... sadly he doesn't want them passing out of doubles either because they never do. There's no out. His philosophy is stupid and highly flawed.

This is simple shit ..

It's looking like Indiana overpaid for this team..

There is something to be said about having culture and kids that are dedicated to a system and program. If the high dollar NIL route is how Indiana chooses to play this every year, you’re going to have years where teams never gel. I hate what college basketball has become and I find it horrible that Indiana is leading the way. Mercenary U.

Yep…ball reversal with a purpose and positioning. Either they are slow with the read or as you note…they are giving up the reversal for a post feed.

Very few shots at the rim that don’t involve a dribble before taking…it’s frustrating

He's like o for how many in the last few games. Our percentage would be way higher if he just passed more and shot way less. He can't hit. Hope IU never paid too much NIL for him.
Still feeling this way? Way too many IU folks bagging on guys who chose to be here and know how we should be playing and have taken leadership to say so. If you don't think he's a leader, listen to the post game PCs with he, Malik and CMW. He and Leal are probably the best hope we have at getting this group on the right track.

yeah that didn't age well. I'm traveling and couldn't get the game on TV so had to follow some online from hotel in MD (and wth....I'm in MD, 40 min from U of M campus and Hilton doesn't have B1G network on cable? c'mon...). Was it accurate to say that we looked better when we didn't have double post/2 bigs (ie Ballo and MR) on the court at the same time? Saw some comments about that but couldn't get much out of the updates I was seeing on line during the game.

It was never going to age well. Goode isn't JJ Reddick, but he's a proven outside shooter. Water was going to find its level, even in Woodson's offense.

Yes, this game I definitely thought we looked better with a single post, but I think Goode and Leal had a lot to do with that, and think they played most of the time w 1 post. Just wish Reanu was more physical on the glass, but he did have one of his better games I thought: 18 pts, 10 rebs, 5 assists, 7-10 FGs, 4-4 FTs.

Exactly. Goode's shooting is one of the most proven, least worrying aspects of this team. All shooters go through dry spells, but you don't get out of them by not shooting. Heck, I remember once when Alford missed 2 consecutive FTs, but you didn't want him to stop going to the line!

LG just needs to show he can do it in games that count. Like Minnesota and Nebraska coming up soon.

Had a feeling this post would resurface at some point. Like the reference that water will find its level. Probably come back up if he goes 1 for 10.
