was complaining about ius lack of speed last night, at the bar, and some old guy started mentioning the quickest players he ever saw. stated talking about david rivers from notre dame in mythical terms about his end-to-end speed. I vaguely remember him don't recall him being that special. I do recall UCLA having a guard named rob foster who was fast as hell

North Carolina had some guards for a stretch that were crazy fast... Ray Felton, Ty Lawson, Ed Cota
Tyus Edney went coast to coast in 3 seconds in the NCAA tournament...
Steve Nash was the fastest/quickest player I've ever seen in person.
IU...Yogi was pretty fast/quick, Earl Calloway was very quick up the court...
Dirk Minniefield from UK, and Passin' Tommy Baker from IU.
I remember seeing the Derby AS game in Louisville, when Minnifield dominated I. Thomas....I thought we were in trouble.
Ever see him play live? Might have been the combination of his handle and his speed, but in an NBA game, against the best athletes in the world, he looked on a completely different level speed/quickness wise. Never seen anything like it. And I watched Iverson front row multiple times. The only player I've seen live that even came close was Russell Westbrook.
Iverson was the most incredible athlete I ever saw in person, moved around like a water bug, couldn't have weighed 170 lbs

Dee Brown but Derrick Rose was even faster. He moved at a speed and strength that made other phenomenal athletes look ordinary.
The quickest moves I personally saw from a running back was Adrian Peterson. The guy was like a wisp of smoke. You couldn’t tell where he was and where he wasn’t.
Dee Brown was the first guy I thought of, but Derrick Rose was super quick and athletic before he started having knee problems. Kenny The Jet Smith for UNC was quick as were the other UNC guys mentioned (never thought of Cota as quick as Felton or Lawson). For Hoosiers, Yogi was the quickest with the ball I remember and Isiah. Rice is fast up and down the floor with the ball. Fastest I think since Yogi. Jamal Meeks was pretty quick with the ball, but not as quick as the others I don't think.
I didn’t think about Kenny Smith-he was very quick.
I thought so just a smidge. I think I'd have them grouped together, behind Yogi and Isiah. I think Rice, from the little I've seen is between those 2 groupings.
I recall Antwaann Randle El in his super short stint on the basketball team, and he had some incredible quickness.
A kid who played at Peru and then transferred to Noblesville his senior year. Reggie Springer could flat out fly up and down the floor. He scored 38 points versus Lawrence North on a Friday night and then put up 0 on a Saturday night against Hamilton Heights. When he had the ball and was driving down the floor it was fun to watch.
The fastest person I've seen live was Deion Sanders. He did an IR stint with the Louisville Bats a farm team for the Reds. Tagged up on a deep fly hit to right field and ended up on third base. unbelievable speed and quickness. Still have his Bobble Head.
Dee Brown who played for Illinois seemed like the quickest guy I have seen.
I never saw Deion play in person. When he was on a night broadcast team (maybe Thursday night) my son and I would go early. My son would go down to the rail that separates the field from seats with other kids. Deion was the only person from TV or teams that would come over and talk with the kids for a few minutes. I know there is a lot to process with him but he is a good hearted soul.

The Pan Am team played an exhibition game at Assembly Hall before heading down to Puerto Rico in 1978.
Isiah had NOT started college yet. He made a move at the top of the key on Quinn (the 2nd greatest defensive guard at IU after Bobby Wilkerson) and had the ball through the hoop before Quinn was able to turn around and see the score.
Caught a foul ball he hit a few games later and he signed for my son and talked to him about where hard work and goals can take you. Nice guy.
