So when did lifelong Republican Chris Wray, the man who Donald Trump described as a man of "impeccable credentials" when he nominated him for FBI director in 2017, turn into a Democratic shill? The Senate was under GOP control, and the only votes against Wray's confirmation came from a few Democrats.

I see one of 3 possibilities here. Either becoming FBI Director somehow turns lifellong Republicans into Democrats. Which would be strange on it's surface because I'm pretty sure EVERY FBI Chief has been a registered Republican.

Another option is that Trump and all his minions are just lousy judges of character, which is only slightly more likely. Although you could argue that Trump misjudged the character of many of his appointees, since so many were crooks.

For the remainder he underestimated them and thought they would be lemmings and follow him blindly. He apparently thought they wouldn't be able to distinguish between swearing allegiance to the Constitution and swearing allegiance to an authoritarian crackpot.Luckily for the rest of us he was wrong on that assumption...

But the most likely element in play here is that Maga world is full of loons and some very ignorant people. MTG thinks the FBI is part of Homeland Security, and that for some reason the FBI director would read her lunatic tweets.

And I keep coming back to the most asinine aspect of these Maga conspiracy theories regarding Antifa, FBI operatives, and whatever other boogeyman they can try and come up with. And that is why these people, who I guess are supposed to be Biden supporters would want to halt the proceedings of Jan 6, which basically is a formality prior to Inauguration day? What exactly was their objective?
