Is it hateful and loathsome if it’s what she believes? There are religious groups that believe the woman must defer to the man of the family.
I have no interest in what the hateful secularists at the Guardian have to say.
Everything I’ve seen shows that “handmaiden” is a position of leadership and influence within the group and not an allusion to a stupid tv show.
You'd think, then, they would be better able to read the tea leaves on how that might sound to outsiders. Especially when one of your insiders is on the federal bench.
