We have to have better guard play. We didn’t have even close to final 4 guard play. Only addition we have to that is Hood. We need huuuge strides at guard and peri after play to even be considered a top 3-5 BIG team
You are assuming race won’t take more. I get it. Sky is falling. Not many real stretch 4s out there. There are 4s that can shoot but not as many as people think. So say he hits an average of 1 a game that’s all that’s needed. He doesn’t need to be a dynamic 3 point shooter.
If he can do that then yes. He hasn’t in 5 years at IU though. You can’t tell me our offense was good last year. If we don’t have shooting we need spacing to penetrate for guards.

Nobody in the SEC, B1G had good enough guards. They are very hard to come by. That’s why there is only 1 champion a year.
What you say isn’t reality. You think to win you have to hit X amount of threes. Go look at the teams that played in the sweet 16. Go do your research. You claim you must hit threes to spread the floor. If that’s true then how the heck did a team that isn’t great at three point shooting win all those games?
You show me a team from those 2 conferences that had good enough back courts. We weren’t/aren’t alone. Who should woody have gotten that was willing to commit to solve the issues?
Did you watch the games? Those teams were much better shooting teams. We were god awful from outside.
Recruit guards that can shoot it or a 4 that can shoot. The BIg had two of the best guards in the country and both will be lottery picks. Everyone talks on her how good our front court is. If it’s so good why we below .500 in conference? Because our guard play and shooting was awful. How you can argue otherwise is mind blowing
But who? It’s easy to say that. Who would you have recruited? That’s the question. I’m not arguing how good/bad they were/are. You are. I’m showing you what reality is and you can’t handle that. I’m simply telling you it wasn’t the 3 point shot that killed us. It was missed 2 pointers and free throws. Getting a shooter still wouldn’t fix those things.
Not what I said. You did. You won’t listen. It’s a problem but a problem we still have. So you fix what you can with what you have. 2 point shots and free throws. We win a lot more games last year cleaning that up. Woody had no better choices with shooters or he would’ve addressed it. Remember it takes people wanting you and you wanting them.
