Yes, he does need to prove he can coach at this level. His mediocre record as an NBA coach doesn’t prove he’s a good college coach.

That’s more of the offense being run. Teams play 4s and 5s all the time when neither are great shooters.
That’s false too. Don’t get me wrong though. It’s a luxury that woody wants but Kansas didn’t have a consistent 4 shooting 3s. The end of the year race was much better at it.

You seriously comparing Gillis to race? Look I get everyone wants a stretch 4 but Gillis isn’t close. Race can at least handle the ball and was getting his legs under him from the perimeter. I’m betting IU won’t average more than 7-8 made threes and they won’t need to. Especially if they hit thier free throws and 2s.

Let’s hope the incoming freshmen and reserves play well enough to keep fresh legs on the floor the last 8 minutes of the second halves, next season. Coming back from deficits, and hanging onto leads, made those must have buckets and stops harder to come by when they mattered the most. It was the lost opportunities that were the most gut wrenching last year … fresh legs should provide better game control.

If he could develop that midrange jumper, maybe a first round guy.

Gillis I used an example when he asked how many Race should make. I would prefer we play either THD or Race not both at same time. Gillis is a much better shooter and an actual threat from 3. Race isn’t

If a guy hits 2-5 is he considered a threat? % isn’t the weakness. It’s about making shots. Race scares nobody from the Outside. Sit back and sag and double TJD. We need spacing to penetrate since we lack shooting
