Has anyone noticed

Here comes that linear train of thought! There had to be one of you…how do you take me mentioning it as one variable that can grab attention and can change the look of the team to me implying it is the reason a kid chooses a team? I don’t disagree with Kraft’s statement. In fact his point on Wilson’s unis is spot on. Yet, here you go adding nothing but outrage and poor reading comprehension!

Okay, I'll agree that it can grab some kids attention but it's not a key factor in decisions... far from it. There's too much at stake for both the player and the coach;

The Oregon Ducks are laughing hysterically at how wrong you are about this.

And you really think Oregon is signing recruits because they think the unis are cool? Give these kids some credit.... Like I said before, there's too much at stake for both the player and the coaches..... Come on you're better than that.

Check out the history of OU football on multiple sources. See how many of those mention the multiple combinations of uniforms and their appeal to recruits. Look at their historical record of mediocrity until Nike began designing those exotic custom uniforms around 2005 or so. That program shot to prominance as much because of the appeal of uniforms to top-rated recruits as any other cause. Don't take my word for it - just be better informed by doing some research.

Yes, from what I remember, you are right. Oregon's new jerseys [back in the 2000s] changed the perception of that program in the minds of recruits, etc, I think because it made Oregon football a national brand. Further, I think when Oregon changed their jerseys, no other schools were doing this at the time.

There are a lot of cool things that can be done just by sticking to our actual school colors. I’d probably have less of an issue with it (maybe not) if not, for the fact that our chief rival to the north is black.

Everyone has their different tastes, but I was fine with the various uniform combinations under Coach Wilson. The kids seemed to like those and yet they were still primarily our school colors with the exception of chrome.
Go to any public event today and what colors do you see young people wearing? I’ll tell you…black, gray, tan, neutral. Bright colors are out, but it just a current, albeit temporary, trend. Trends change given time. Time is on our side, so wear brightly colored red…okay, crimson if you really have balls, and white or cream. Dare to be different from trends. Wear the school colors proudly like a peacock on display, let others know we stand united, not divided in color scheme.

And a few Million Dollars from Phil Knight didn't hurt either! LOL.

I thought they were great!
Still think they were statement making. A + statement. Like the warmup pants were when they were 1st auditioned. Make them away game helmets for maximum affect on recruiting. Most identifiable IUFB Brand on the road. Far better than some of the crap the Ducks have worn over the years. And it would be a constant verses a change every game. No matter what non HOOSIER fans think it offers IU up for conversation outside the state.
