Greatest celebrity endorsement of the 21st Century

He just changed my vote. Write in will now be for "Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Jr."
"We named the dog Indiana." Which I literally have, one of our dogs is named Indiana Jones.

I am sure that endorsement won't change a single mind. Nor necessarily should it. But it explains my vote perfectly well. I don't like Harris, she is an amazingly weak candidate. But what Dr Jones said.

I had beers with him (well next to him) at the Delano many years ago. He had an earring.

But that’s Indiana and Hans. Legend

You probably heard the story, Michelle Phillips of the Mana's and the Papa's went to see Star Wars because her stepbrother was an animator on the movie. She had no idea of the movie or who Harrison Ford was. When he appeared on screen she exclaimed, "that's my pot dealer."

No I had never heard that 🤣🤣. Absolutely hilarious. I was shocked to see him with an earring

And a good, humble argument to boot. Doesn't take shots at Trump supporters, just lays out who he is voting for and why:

There could be dozens of threads pertaining to Harris celebrity endorsements. It's easier to just name the celebs who are on the Trump train: Chachi, Jon Voight, Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock and Tony Hinchcliffe. (I might have missed two or three others).

No one really gives a shit about celebrity endorsements and it's doubtful they move the needle much if at all. But a guy who recently endorsed Harris, the very high-T LeBron James, once hit a game-winner in taking on Trump. After learning that Trump had "withdrawn" his invitation for Steph Curry to visit the White House, James tweeted: "Going to the White House was a great honor - - until you showed up."

Ford is now WOKE. He is in that new show Shrinking on Apple TV.

Show is so good that I can look past the fact that it's trying to turn the viewer non-binary.

I'd guess Ted Nugent is a Trumpster.

He might be. But that doesn't detract from his message. I don't agree with all of it, but it's well spoken and reasonable and he doesn't come off as a douche, like so many of these things do.

I'll check out Shrinking. I've always wanted to explore my non-binary side.

Shrinking appears to be following the Ted Lasso playbook. The first season sucks the viewer in with a real well-written, lighthearted comedy. Then they slowly start adding in the woke, a little dabble at a time so that you barely notice it. Like boiling a frog. Before you know it you're watching a locker room full of soccer players discuss best practices to be cognizant of their own toxic masculinity.

I never heard that one, but I did hear that when Harrison Ford moved to LA he couldn't get enough acting jobs to pay the bills. So he started a handyman business, specializing in high-end woodworking and carpentry. He was apparently really good at it and got to work on some hollywood mansions. George Lucas met Ford while he was installing a wooden door at Francis Ford Coppola’s house. This led to his casting in Lucas’ first hit, American Graffiti, in 1973. Then this movie series called Star Wars...

Um, wtf is going on here?

Just got back from voting with my first time voting daughter.

As I said, I wrote in my dead dog.

She asked who I voted for and I told her. I then asked who she voted for and she said Jr. She said she couldn't vote for either one.

I told her good for her, if that's how she feels.

It's absolutely amazing to me that in a populist environment where ordinary people are struggling to pay rent and buy groceries that the Dems believe endorsements from celebrities worth hundreds of millions of $s and who likely havent had a real job in their lives actually helps them.

That speaks to general dislike of Trump just as much as the Dems being out of touch.

Nobody is voting for anyone, it seems, but rather against the other one.

... likely haven't had a real job in their lives ...
I think crafting a wooden door by hand and installing it counts as a "real job".

Ditto building china cabinets, crown molding, balusters for stairways, etc. Ford did all that. For YEARS.

Lots of successful people at one time had real jobs. Not all of them are Trump, with everything handed to you by a rich Daddy.

Bullshit.

"Ordinary people" are sitting in front of box stores waiting on a spouse with their SUV's A/C running or in a Starbucks drivethrough idling away Joe Biden's $3 gas while waiting to buy a $6 latte.

You surely see them but obviously ignore them, for the obvious political reason.

Bullshit. Ordinary people are deciding between groceries and meds. The economy is the top issue in all 7 swing states. But you ignore that for the obvious political reason.

Go volunteer. See what you can do to help. Or just wake up. Open your eyes. Partisan hack

You would burn much more gas turning off and on the ignition every time you had to move up in the drive through line.

Yep. Whoever wins is inheriting a booming economy. If it's Trump, he'll manage to fvck it up with his "tariffs on steroids."

I know. It would be like someone thinking a billionaire's endorsement of a candidate actually helps . . .

I don't think anyone thinks Elon is trying to act like he's one of them. But he's the most innovative individual on the planet, and for people who value his opinion, it can make a difference.

It's quite different from a wealthy Hollywood star whose only accomplishments are reading lines in a movie.
