That of course won't be the narrative. But the Republicans continue to not be able to create any leverage because they can't pass anything on their own. You can't go into negotiations with the Dems when you don't have anything to start with. Result will be the same as usual... The Senate will pass a 3 month CR, then Johnson will have to bring it to the floor and pass it with a lot of Dem votes.

The dynamic has never changed in the last 2 years.

Exactly. It's not the Dems' fault it can't pass the house. Get something to the Senate and then you can put pressure on the Dems.

The 14 Republicans that voted against it are wrong and I blame them. But let’s not kid ourselves….the Democrats do not want anything to pass before we come up to the deadline.

I don't think that's true, but if it is, easy solution: pass a clean bill, and force the Dems to defend not voting for it. Stop attaching shit that gives them an easy excuse for saying no.

I’m for a clean CR that funds the government for 6 months.

What was the shit attached to this bill?

As far as I know it was only the one rider that everyone seems to support in principle
