Dusty May….

Woodson is not lighting up the world sorry to say. This is year 3 we're about to miss the tournament and he has 1 kid coming in no shooters going to lose Ware, Johnson, Leal, Galloway, Mgbako, Walker. May on the hand just took his team to the final four and again is a top 15 team. Also Woodson is about to be 66 time to retire.
Another take with no alternative. If it’s not May or woody than who?

May needs more time. I'm probably less sure May is going to be a top tier P5 coach than I am Woody isn't. His first 3 teams at FAU were barely above .500. If his style were so great, he'd have won more frequently with it his first few years. Having said that, he is a compelling guy. Very well might be he's a guy that will continue to thrive in todays NIL/Transfer portal world. And that his style of play will, in fact, jive with P5 level players, and he'll continue to be wildly successful. Or, to flip back the other way, maybe his core group of players these last 2 years are carrying him, and he won't repeat that again without them?

Point is...no way to know right now. So he's not a good candidate for IU, right now.

I do share your concerns regarding Woody though. I think there's enough "tape" now, that if I'm Dolson, I'm not, not keeping my ear to the ground. I wouldn't move on Woody for May, or most anyone, even if they majorly stumble and finish well below .500. But I also don't think he's ever going to get IU consistently back to the top of the B10, and in positions to make long NCAA runs. So if Donovan were to show any interest...or Stevens...done deal, I'd move on Woody immediately. If the season ends badly, there may be a handful of others, if there were serious interest, that I'd move on Woody for...but not many. And off the top of my head, I can't think of who they'd be.

And then the real crux of all this...he's 2-0 in the B10, and 10-3 overall. I don't like how his team is playing, but he obviously deserves support right now.
You don’t think May could get more talent at Iu than he has at FAU?

Yes I did. I said I’m hiring May
May likely isn't leaving the state of Florida for another 3-5 years. Wife loves it down there in and all three of his kids have essentially been raised in that area of the country and they aren't going to relocate until they're all grown. If May proves last year wasn't a fluke and really elevates FAU the next couple of seasons he's definitely worth a look. Hiring a guy because he went to the F4 one time and your team didn't is a very terrible strategy and rarely works out in the long run.

Pretty sure we have been in every early tournament bracket so far. The one guy we have coming in absolutely looks like the best shooter we have landed in a while. And both Leal and Galloway can and probably will return. Why wouldn’t they?

I would say that there is more to it than just the final 4 run. Indiana guy, winning at a tough place to win. His teams look well coached. He may not be the guy but I can watch Iu and see that Woody definitely isn’t

There you go again, saying “we’re about to miss the tournament” after 13 games is silly. I get you’re a very pessimistic fan, but that’s ridiculous.

That’s exactly what his mom said too. I was at my cousins house and she is friends with Dusty’s mom. Had no clue who she was. It clicked after a few days. I wasn’t paying attention. My brother said you know who that is?

I am with several of you who are baffled about the replace Woody talk. We were so bad when he took over. We haven’t been a consistently good program since the mid 90s. Did we expect to be at the Kansas level by year 3?

Woodson won 21 games in year 1 and 23 in year 2 with major injuries to two starters. Without those injuries he might have won the Big Ten in year 2.

Then we lose 6 main rotation guys including 4 starters (2 to the NBA). Many posters talked about how terrible this year would be because Woodson couldn’t recruit or coach. I believe a couple posters said we would be lucky to win 10 games. Yet Woodson retooled our whole roster. And even with another injury to a starter we sit at 10-3 and look to be on our way to yet another 20 win season. For context the last time IU had 3 straight 20 win seasons was 20 years ago.

Anyone who things Woodson should be fired right now is an absolute idiot and should lose posting rights.

Have you looked at our schedule? Yes we have 10 wins but….

How many times are you guys going to post that? The season isn’t over and if IU makes the tournament I expect to see a crow feast here.

We have no quality wins. Unless we boat race the big ten and go 13-7 14-6 we're on the bubble. IU is 87 in Kenpom that is alot of ground to make up.

Another guy hired off a fluke F4 run. He's a lesser version of Tom Crean. He hasn't made it past the first weekend of the tournament since he made the F4 at VCU in 2011. What's Shaka have that Woodson doesn't other than being a proven tourney fraud?
He is 46 has 331 wins

Every game is winnable. It’s unlikely IU will win them all, but there isn’t a game on the schedule that isn’t winnable. This is a fact. A prediction on how many IU wins is an opinion. You’d do well to learn the difference between facts and opinions.

Your response to my post makes zero sense.

All true and valid but I asked him. He’s looking more and more like a troll.

Currently sitting at 2-0 in conference with 18 to go and "we're about to miss the tournament". Man, what histrionics. Lol

Only 46, already has won over 25 games seven times. Been to a final four, won AP Coach the year won his conference in diffrent leagues.

Apparently one of you can’t help posting it again.😏

It’s “a lot.” “Alot” is not a word.

He's got a 10+ year sample size of doing exactly what you want Woody fired for lol. He has one fluke run to the F4 and hasn't gotten out of the second weekend of the tournament since.
Until Woodson wins coach of the year like Smart has dont compare.

It’s plain logical English and it probably confuses you. Problem is I don’t speak gibberish. Sorry.

Go get a blanket or snuggy and cry yourself to sleep when your favorite coach gets
13 by whom? ESPN? I didn't realize ESPN picked the teams. There's 2/3 of the season left to be played for crying out loud. Getting butt hurt and calling for the head coach to be fired over a mock bracket two months before the tournament starts is ludicrous.

Coach who has Indiana beat for the committee to put Indiana in the tournament. Morehead State? Wright State? Kensaw State? Army? We lost by a combined 52 points to Uconn, Kansas, and Auburn.

Maybe I’m naive in thinking the draw of IU brings more talent in for him at IU and he is able to coach them up. Crean, Archie and Woody all have been able to land 5 star talent but just haven’t been able to recruit and develop complete teams.

Did you mean to type a full sentence in response to my post, or do you think that is a full sentence?

We've played 13 games you dipshit.

Like I said, there's a reason why the field is announced in mid-March and not early January. I'm going to wait until we finish playing our 18 regular season games + the BTT before concluding their tournament fate. I bet the committee will do the same also.
