Dusty May….

Why? What is your proof to back up that statement? Because it’s not IU’s standing in current state of basketball.
Proof? Why in hell would the AD want to fire Woodson after this season. It would be very dumb. You said it should be open. Why would you think that?

You're a little ankle biter. I asked you why you think he should be fired after this season?
I think he steadied to program and we move on. I don’t see him elevating the program to a high level. Do you?

We will see. I like how it's going so far. Who do we move on too after this year? It's not going to happen but you must have someone in mind.

He thinks May or god for bid Scott Drew. We know Drew’s story and why that will never happen. May could be at some point a good candidate but he’s not there yet. Neither is IU.

Dusty May would be my pick but I’m a little gun shy after Archie hire on hiring guys from smaller programs.

You said move on this year..so which is it?
If this season is a step back and we miss the tourney then yes move on. If we do make the tourney, I put my feelers out with May and see if the stars will align the following year. I am not sure Woody coaches that much longer regardless

Figures. You are all over the place.

You should be the AD. You would be the same guy shouting to fire him after losing to FGCU. Your fire the coach narrative is getting real stale.
So what’s the answer? You don’t think IU should be a perennial top 10 program?

I wish like hell that was the case, but I got news for ya. It’s not 1987 anymore and Bob Knight isn’t walking through the door. Tom Crean won multiple BIG titles and led us to multiple sweet sixteens. He had his flaws and I understand why IU decided to move on. But the guy we hired set our program back 4 years. And Woodson his been trying to fix that mess. Woodson isn’t an elite college coach, I’ll give you that much. Indiana just isn’t that attractive of a job anymore. If it was, we’d have one.

Dude, I just said that is who I am taking: why do I need another choice?
Pearl, Calipari,Painter…how about those names
Eye roll. Proving my point. Nobody is a realistic or reasonable replacement. Now go join the clown town crew on the Purdue board.

I think it is still an attractive job. I think they have botched some negotiations in the past

Ok so what is the answer then? You just want to point at me for wanting a change, yet you have even said you are not sold on Woody: so what should Iu do?

No I asked you. I never said woody wasn’t. I told you since woody(in your eyes) and May(not ready) aren’t options then who is. You chose to not answer the question and side step.

This specific discussion of firing Woody to hire May is absurd...today.

I think if we limp down the stretch this year, lose more than we win coming home, and miss the tournament...there's a valid debate to be had about Woody being viable as our coach, long term.

Separately, if May wins 30 games again, and makes a deep tourney run, a valid debate could be had about him being someone IU should go after.

But today, Woody hasn't really done anything to warrant any serious debates about being fired.

And today, May hasn't done enough to warrant any serious debates about being IU's coach right now.

Billy Donovan expresses any interest in getting back into college...I'd move on Woody tomorrow. But outside Donovan or Stevens, there aren't any humans on the planet I'd have this specific debate about, right now.

All true and valid but I asked him. He’s looking more and more like a troll.

May needs more time. I'm probably less sure May is going to be a top tier P5 coach than I am Woody isn't. His first 3 teams at FAU were barely above .500. If his style were so great, he'd have won more frequently with it his first few years. Having said that, he is a compelling guy. Very well might be he's a guy that will continue to thrive in todays NIL/Transfer portal world. And that his style of play will, in fact, jive with P5 level players, and he'll continue to be wildly successful. Or, to flip back the other way, maybe his core group of players these last 2 years are carrying him, and he won't repeat that again without them?

Point is...no way to know right now. So he's not a good candidate for IU, right now.

I do share your concerns regarding Woody though. I think there's enough "tape" now, that if I'm Dolson, I'm not, not keeping my ear to the ground. I wouldn't move on Woody for May, or most anyone, even if they majorly stumble and finish well below .500. But I also don't think he's ever going to get IU consistently back to the top of the B10, and in positions to make long NCAA runs. So if Donovan were to show any interest...or Stevens...done deal, I'd move on Woody immediately. If the season ends badly, there may be a handful of others, if there were serious interest, that I'd move on Woody for...but not many. And off the top of my head, I can't think of who they'd be.

And then the real crux of all this...he's 2-0 in the B10, and 10-3 overall. I don't like how his team is playing, but he obviously deserves support right now.

Woodson is not lighting up the world sorry to say. This is year 3 we're about to miss the tournament and he has 1 kid coming in no shooters going to lose Ware, Johnson, Leal, Galloway, Mgbako, Walker. May on the hand just took his team to the final four and again is a top 15 team. Also Woodson is about to be 66 time to retire.
