They compare the Big East to the Atlantic 10. Unreal then say Archie is the superior coach. Shaka Smart won .744 at VCU but is only .508 at Texas, what is the difference. Oh I don't know maybe a better conference, with better players and better coaches.

You don’t blatantly lie about it when it can so easily blow up in your face. All it would take is for one of those coaches to say they turned down the job.
They were very similar at the time. Mack was at a better job than Archie. To claim Archie was clearly above Mack is pure bias. Both should have been interviewed but that’s not what happened.
How could anyone claim Archie was the better hire. Mack coached in the BIG EAST Archie the Atlantic 10, no comparison at all in competition level.

As far as what he said, what was stated before is true, PR hype that doesn't really say anything. We got our guy. As BRCR stated, he could have talked to six guys. No way of knowing without intimate knowledge of the process, something no one here has.
Ok one last analogy for the really slow people on this site. Bill Lynch was 36-12 at Butler when he coached there. How did he do at IU?
I'm on a roll so lets keep going. In the 2016-2017 Season Xavier played a ranked team 9 freaking times. Dayton played 1 ranked team (St. Mary's). Yea real fair comparison.

I heard surfer fred only went after Archie even though Mack and Holtman won in a power conference vs a mid major conference.
The fact is Mack proved he could win in a power conference. Seemed like a no brainer to me but with Fred he never does the obvious thing.
The real fact is it is way too soon to be debating which was the better hire. Even though Archie is 1-0 vs Mack
Fred is not smart enough to know the difference he also likes to hire Big Ten football coaches with no head coaching experience at all, except Ben Davis High School.
Fred had his mind made up from day one after somebody convinced him Archie was the next Coach K.
If anything Mack had a great team in 2017 and maybe he didn’t want to leave yet, who knows.
