DeSantis blocked my covid-19 vaccination Friday.

Signed up on the CVS pharmacy website to get a covid booster. It is the new one that was approved by the CDC. I was scheduled to get mine on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale.

When I showed up to get it I was informed that in direct conflict with the center of disease control DeSantis has not approved the new covid vaccination. I am 68 years old with type 2 diabetes. And now that mother ****er DeSantis is interfering with my health care and safety.

What I really feel about him I probably should not put in print.

82, wondering why you are not upset with CVS.

CVS has failed to deliver Covid vaccines to their stores throughout the country for the early birds wanting to be among the first.

The CVS employee blaming DeDantis is typical of putting the blame on politicians and government for just about everything these days.

Moderna received approval on September 11th. Most vaccination sites received by September 18th

So my vaccine experience in Indy. I wouldn’t be in a big hurry to get it, but since I’m traveling next week, I thought it might be a good idea. Even though they say an airplane is one of the safest places, I seem to always pick up a bug when I get home from a long flight. I have been wearing masks, even though I feel like a nerd. When I get just a plain old cold I feel like ass for a week and then get a persistent cough for a month. Anyway, I had 5 cancellations of appointments this week until I finally got in this morning. Talked to the pharmacist and he says everyone was caught off guard by the number of people wanting it and that it is busier than it’s been since the beginning roll out. Are you seeing this , Spartan?

What's so freakin' funny about long COVID? My 27-yo daughter is still hyper-fatigued, 2 years later.
Yeah I know several people, including my sister who are having bad, bad symptoms. It sucks. It’s one thing to have it over in a week, but something else to have symptoms two years later with no end in sight. One of my girls lost her sense of taste and it has not come back two years later. That would be miserable.

Yes. We ran out yesterday. Hopefully will have more tomorrow

What does DeSantis have to do with access to vaccines? At the pharmacy I work at we haven’t received the new CoViD vaccine yet. We don’t expect it until the end of the month. We were required to send all of the previous formulations back due to no longer being able to administer
FYI. He runs the state of Florida where we live like a two bit dictator. My wife s life long Republican and an RN. She had direct interaction with him during COVID. Did not go well. She calls him Deathsantis.

IT'S THE ****ING JAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this has been going on pre-covid. it's pretty scary. i know so many in their 40s fighting cancer it's pretty alarming. gastro cancers are bad too adn something we've been made aware of with my daughter's ongoing pancreatic stuff

Yeah, man...not good. Especially since they (younger kids) didn't really have a choice.

We've had a couple local "unusual/sudden" deaths in grade school kids...one at my daughter's school, one at the public school a block over. Quick strike brain cancer, and a heart attack/seizure on a playground. Like 2nd graders.

I saw a (different) video than the below (with supporting data) a couple weeks ago that showed the all-cause mortality rates in highly vaccinated Western Europe versus lowly vaccinated Eastern Europe. I those are probably the stats this guy is talking about...

Is she mad that she had to get the jab voluntarily instead of being forced to?

Seriously? She wasn’t allowed to get it for two months after she started saving lives by traveling the state giving vaccinations. So she was exposed to hundreds of people daily without the protection she was administering.
Oh and due to the book banning legislation he signed last year, the dictionary is now banned in parts of the state. All in the cause of protecting the population.

Why the two month delay? Was Florida rolling it out to the infirm and elderly first? The horror!

What a pathetic drama queen you are.

"The" dictionary is not now "banned" in "parts" of the state.

ONE school district pulled ALL the books from their shelves to review them. The dictionary was pulled for "review," too. That's not banning "the" dictionary, and it is ONE school.

This kind of hyperbole harms your argument.

Serious question. Did she have the vax or 2 before she got covid or did she get covid first?

I ask because I got the vax and the booster. Felt fine after both, but after a few months I didn't feel as mentally sharp. I didn't get actually get covid for another 8 months. I think the vax affected my but not covid. Can't prove anything though.

I've mentioned my Mexican next door neighbors. The lady died in 2021 from Covid, unvaccinated, and after they had been available. I found out that none of the extended family were vaccinated, and chided them politely. They all got the jab soon thereafter, and made a point o let me know.

In 2022, the forty-something son came down with an aggressive form of cancer and died in short order.

And in this past November, the old man, who was in decent shape for his age, also got cancer and died within weeks.

You can blame China for the lady's death, but I'll take responsibility for the other two. Don't know what I was thinking.

1600 books are banned and removed from the Escambia School district pending review. And we all know how fast this won’t move. Also, this crap is happening all over. Generally in the south. Go figure. Any reference to sex or sexual conduct Is a no no. The ambiguous language in the law forces this kind of reaction. Your banned book is my literary masterpiece. It’s always those righteous pious whackos who prefer to hide their kids heads in the sand so they may not be corrupted. How’d that work out for them in the 50’s and 60’s with respect to rock and roll music? This is not hyperbole. It’s the entire school district and it will spread as Deathsantis pushes his cultural war themes. He’s a prick that rails against the elite of which he’s one.

No it’s not. As an example. Many people parroted the idea that if you get vaccinated you won’t get Covid. That is misinformation.

They weren’t lying. They were just easily duped.

You spread misinformation on this board every day. It’s not that you’re lying. You’re just ignorant and have low intellect.
Kinda like the Orange Jesus cultists huh?

Yes, it is hyperbole.

If you'd like to bet me, I'd be glad to put up a $100 that dictionaries will not be "banned" in Florida schools and it won't "spread." To ban a book means you don't allow the child to read it. Library books are removed all the time for wear and tear or because it has become obsolete. Would you say the school "banned" a science book from 1940 that it took off the shelves? Of course you wouldn't. What do you think would happen if a kid brought in his own dictionary? Do you think it would be confiscated? The child told not to use it or open it in school? Hell, maybe a school district stupid enough to review a dictionary for appropriateness would do that to a kid, but I doubt it.

@TheOriginalHappyGoat, do names like "Deathsantis" fall within your rule or not?

Yes. @swman his name is DeSantis. Use his real name, please.

In trying to find some articles about the school district here, I came across this article about the Moms for Liberty co-founder:

My favorite line: “Bridget Ziegler, we should have her in every county in Florida,” DeSantis said in one speech.

Hell, we need one of her in every county in America!

The dictionary alon with 1600other books are currently banned. Whether it or any other banned book eventually gets put back on the shelf is irrelevant. Right now it is banned. Shouldn’t the Bible be banned? After all, lots of sex, violence and other heinous sins are prevalent throughout.
I don’t think preachers should be able to talk about sin as I fear my child might get ideas as a result. I’d bet it takes 6 months to put the dictionary’s back in. Or maybe there will be an edited version with no references whatsoever to that scary sex word. Meanwhile every 10 year old with a cell phone can watch porn 24-7. Can’t make this crap up.
So Deathsantis should get me banned huh. How about fart, fart, fart ,fart. Seriously go back to worshipping Orange Jesus. Oops.
