So $463,077 of his $617,436, which even though it is spread evenly over his 4 years as cap money, was evidently already paid upfront. So that's $420,000 in base salary + $154,359 for quarter of his bonus for a season in which he had 108 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 picks.

I appreciate his integrity. The 49ers should match it and refuse to take back the money. Had he been injured at any point, the 49ers would've cut him and that bonus would be the only thing guaranteed for him. And while Borland's correct when he says he didn't "earn it" based on playing time, by NFL salary standards, his performance last season alone was absolutely worth a little over a million dollars.
