Biden in Saudi Arabia

Is our great president going to admonish them while on his knees begging for oil? If we were energy independent which Biden stopped, Joey wouldn’t need to beg.

Please stop saying "energy independent". That is not the correct description of what the United States has been over the last 6 years. We have been the largest producer of Oil and Natural Gas since 2017, but we have never been energy independent (or at least, not in the last 100 years at least, I don't know if we were "energy independent" back in the 1800's).

We weren’t begging OPEC for oil.

We are a net exporter of oil and natural gas, and that surplus has only increased. But we ramp up exports to pad the pockets of oil execultives and their politician puppets, such that we need to import to keep up. This isn't new, but was ramped up by 45.

That's Democrat math there .... we use about 20 million barrels a day and produce somewhere around 13-15 million barrels a day.

No, it is US Department of Energy stats.

U.S. petroleum imports peaked in 2005, after generally increasing every year from 1954 through 2005. Then they have trended downwards since. Imports have also skewed toeard Canada and the Western hemisphere in general, and away from Middle East sources.

In 2021, the United States exported about 8.63 million barrels per day (b/d) and imported about 8.47 million b/d of petroleum.

Also, I included natural gas in my post. In 2021, total annual U.S. natural gas exports were 6.65 Tcf—the highest on record, and the United States has been an annual net exporter of natural gas since 2017, with the STEEPEST RISE EVER for 2021.

It doesn't matter to me how they juggle numbers. All I am looking at is how much we use per day verses how much we produce per day.
According to this(what we use) and this(what we produce) we use more than we produce. You can find your own sources if desired because some places do vary.

That's crude oil. We are a net exporter of petroleum in total, but a net importer of crude specifically.

And that is why Biden is in SA, trying to get them to pump more crude oil, at least that is what I understand. Correct me if I am wrong.

I think it was the right thing to do so I'm not criticizing him.

If we need to flood the oil markets with more product quickly, OPEC is the only option.

Well, I guess it helps to have previously called Saudi Arabia a pariah state.
Oh I know... he has a way of shooting himself in the foot. Every signal he's sent to the oil companies has been negative as far as investing in the future and then turns around and criticizes them because they aren't jumping to his tune. I wonder sometimes if politicians (not just Biden) are really that stupid or do they tell so many lies that they don't have any idea what they said about something a month ago.

I don't know about all politicians, but when it comes to Biden, stupid. Stupid is the answer.

we don't need to "beg" them to do anything.

"begging" gets you nothing in politics and business.

just threaten to quit defending and arming them.

of course, the arms and oil industries will never allow that, and they call all the shots here.
