Bad Team Management - Hate to be negative the week of game #1, but....

...to me the worst part of the Dawkins thing is all that time spent luring him to come to IU (doubt it was his initial idea to transfer here...some coach had to go get/convince him), to have him here for both Spring and Fall camp, taking up a QB practice spot, only to have him then leave....

Look: I GET that kids nowadays are in that "I start or take my ball & go home (transfer out)" mode (George, Jr., etc.), but IU coaches HAVE to do a better job of taking things like that into consideration....

It also hurt in that It put the kibosh on "Mr. Football Florida" staying here (something I was looking forward to), and will have other (bad) ramifications.

OK ----->, personnel management is never easy - mistakes are going to be made - but sometimes I wonder with all the coaches, grad assistants, interns, assistant ADs, etc. giving input nowadays that there aren't "too many cooks spoiling the broth".....unless you have someone organized & clearheaded to keep things straight.
