Les Miles to Kansas, looks like they are getting serious about football.
Could be but he’s better than anything they have had in the past.Ehhh...says more about the trajectory of Les Miles’ career to me. As in...maybe it’s over.

Kansas was serious about football when they hired Charlie Weiss. It still didn't work out. Building a powerhouse football team at Michigan or LSU is a hell of a lot easier than doing so at Kansas. There are dozens of examples of "big-time" hires struggling at schools with historically low success in football.Les Miles to Kansas, looks like they are getting serious about football.
I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.Les Miles to Kansas, looks like they are getting serious about football.
That was a remarkable coaching job too. Probably one of the most disciplined football teams to ever take the field. That 07 year was magic 21-1 and an OB win.Mark “Jabba” Mangino had Kansas ranked #2 in the country back in 2008. Think about that for a moment.
It’s not just hiring Miles, Kansas is making a major investment in facilities as well. Charlie Weiss was a much worse college coach than Les Miles.
Well "major" is relative. They are spending a lot of money largely because they were way behind in spending. They are starting a renovation to HALF their stadium, with no timeline to begin renovation on the other half. And even when completely done, it looks like they'd have a very nice AAC/CUSA level stadium.
By hiring the Joker?Les Miles to Kansas, looks like they are getting serious about football.
Fred Akers was a great coach at Texas but was terrible at PUKansas was serious about football when they hired Charlie Weiss. It still didn't work out. Those here who believe that there is a magic formula for places like Kansas (or IU) to have instant success by hiring a big name coach and throwing money at him are delusional. It might work, but it also might not.
