Mistaken Identity

I got a letter from Superior Court with my name listed as being sued and my attendance was requested in court. While I didn't know the other plaintiff listed, it was a little unnerving. I don't have a common last name but there are two others in town with the same first and last name.

I called just before the court office closed and the clerk confirmed I was not the right person. This is not the first time I had to answer for one of these other people. The first was right after I moved to town and opened a membership at a video store. They refused me at first because "I" had overdue videos. It was my first time in the store.

About a year later (after my name was published in the phone book), I got a strange call with a little girl talking while someone in the background was telling her what to say. I got a similar call the next year. I told the girl to give the phone to her mommy. I asked the person who she thought I was. When she heard my voice she said, never mind and hung up. A deadbeat dad with my name was my conclusion.

I few years ago I received a letter about a scooter registered to me that was impounded. When I called the sheriff, he asked if my middle initial was "P". I said it wasn't and he said "that's good!"

I found this person on Facebook. I know it is him because the other plaintiff in the lawsuit is all over his page. I want to tell him to grow up! He has been causing trouble for 30 years, but I would rather he not know I exist. I considered the douchebag might try to pass his shit off on me. Anyone else have an evil namesake?

IU@Iowa, Game 3: Iowa 2 IU 1. Iowa sweeps, but IU makes the tourney...

RHP Bradley Brehmer is on the mound for IU with an ERA of 6.13 in 61.2 IP, while RHP Ty Langeberg is on the mound for Iowa with an ERA of 3.96 in 52.1 IP.

At the risk of getting jumped on, we will face Maryland if we lose tonight and that is the last team we want to start the tournament off with.

In the 1st, Whalen leads off with a K. Jessee and Mathison ground out to end IU's 1st.

In Iowa's 1st, Brehmer gets the first two batters, but then give up a homer to give the Hawkeyes an early 1-0 lead. The next batter singled to put a man on with one out. A WP sends the runner to 2nd with two outs. Brehmer then walks a batter to put two runners on with two outs. Of Iowa's lineup tonight, 8 batters are righties with the No. 2 batter being the only lefty. A ground out ends the inning.

SIAP: LaRavia

Did Woody & staff even consider him (or even have time to do so)? I don't remember now, but I thought there might've been some tentative contact made at some point after ISU fired their coach

Almost every mock draft I've seen lately has him going late 1st-early 2nd round (ahead of, among others, TJD) and the video I've seen of him @ Wake Forest shows him draining 3's from all over the court, even against elite ACC teams like Doooook and UNC (the University with No Classes)

Trump to Oz: Just Say That You Won

Vote counts? Recounts? Race too close to call? Who cares! No need to wait. Just declare victory. Then if it's later determined the other guy won, just say he cheated.

Brou on NIL

Chris Broussard and the rest of the gang on FTF were just talking about NIL and Saban. One thing he mentioned is that schools can directly talk to massive businesses to get kids from their institution internships and pipeline them in. Then they can tout that their MBA program or Law school produces direct links into such and such. This is going to be impossible for the NCAA to stop.

Very soon school will be able to work directly with boosters to facilitate these deals. Man, like a freaking rocket ship. Full blown business ladies and gents, as it should be.
